O peso da vida!
Gostava de senti-lo à tua maneira
e ouvi-la crescer dentro de mim,
em carne viva,
não queria somente
rasgar-te a ferida,
não queria apenas esta vocação paciente
do lavrador,
mas, também, a da terra
e que é a tua
Assume o amor como um ofício
onde tens que te esmerar,
repete-o até à perfeição,
repete-o quantas vezes for preciso
até dentro dele tudo durar
e ter sentido
Deixa nele crescer o sol
até tarde,
deixa-o ser a asa da imaginação,
a casa da concórdia,
só nunca deixes que sobre
para não ser memória.

The Burden of Life
by Eduardo White
The burden of life!
I loved bearing it, just like you,
hearing it grow inside me,
in living flesh.
I didn't only want
to open your wound,
I didn't only want
the patient vocation of a labourer:
I wanted the earth's vocation too,
which also is yours.
Treat love like a profession,
to be practised with great care.
Repeat to perfection
as often as necessary,
until it lasts
and everything inside
is in the right place.
Let the sun rise into the night.
Never let love become a leftover, a memory.
Tree of life!
Day 23 of #30dayphotochallenge
These were shot at the same date, different times of the day and different angles. Such a photogenic tree! The question is, how are they maintaining it to look this good? Fantastic job, owners!
Shot on #Canon R5 + RF 100-500 (day) and RF 28-70 f/2 (night)

To the Maya, the ceiba tree is sacred. The tree joins the heavens to the terrestrial earth through its roots to the underworld, the trunk on the ground, and the branches that reach out to the sky. Considered the “tree of life," the ceiba is thought to stand at the center of the Earth. Modern Maya often leave the tree alone out of respect when harvesting forest wood. Plants played a significant role in the ecology, culture and rituals of the Maya people, whose artwork reflects the sacred and diverse plant life around them. Ancient Maya art depicts the ceiba tree. "The Maya have lived and used rainforest plants to heal themselves for thousands of years. We are just beginning to understand some of their secrets," according to archaeologist Charles Zidar of Missouri Botanical Garden in St Louis, US. The ceiba is the national tree of Guatemala. news.bbc.co.uk/earth/hi/earth_news/newsid_8083000/8083812...
The hills are done with improvised piecing. The tree with raw edge applique. Used only scraps from my stash. My quilting has improved since I made this quilt, so it's not perfect
I designed this wall hanging.
Known as the “tree of life” it holds a special status and role in the traditions and livelihoods of communities across Africa. Adansonia digitata is the most common species of African Baobab and is found in 31 African countries. They are recognizable by their distinctive swollen stems. Occurring naturally in the dry areas of Madagascar, Africa and Australia, they store massive amounts of water in their stems to cope with seasonal droughts.
The tree’s fruits are large pods known as ‘monkey bread’ or ‘cream of tartar fruit’ and they produce a dry fruit pulp that is highly nutritious.
