i bought this yarn in austin at country hill weavers, oh, about two and a half years ago, and just a month ago finished this scarf. though it doesn't look like it, it's actually a lace pattern, and was a pain in my butt. but at least i like how it turned out.
Arizona Gray Squirrel
(Sciurus arizonensis : Sciuridae)
Kohl's Ranch, Tonto National Forest, Gila Co., Arizona.
For the first time in a while, we had the larger tree squirrels at our feeders. There were five of them at one point in time - clearly they heard from their cousins in Ann Arbor that I was a softie for squirrels. That was just a matter of time, I suppose! Cosmo and Wanda were enjoying it for sure.

i *heart* this ring, however, it's a bit too tight for my liking. meaning, i can wear it in the winter, but the summer would be off limits. it's a tight size 5 (odd, since my wedding bands are 5s). so, i put it up on my etsy site for purchase.
I'm hiding while Preggers examines her baby that fell out of our tree during high winds Friday. We suspect the baby fell off a branch during a gust and hit the roof a couple of times before landing on the ground below.
Leucistic Eastern Gray Squirrel (Sciurus carolinensis)
Tallahassee Museum, Tallahassee, Leon County, Florida
our friends judah and sonia are expecting any day now, and i wanted to knit them something for the new arrival. since my sweater making skillz aren't the best, i opted for a blanket. the darker tones were intended in case of inevitable stains, and i chose a machine washable nylon/acrylic blend that's super soft.

On the morning of our third and final day in Etosha (we would leave the park after eating lunch at Namutoni waterhole in the far east of the park), there were several of these little squirrels around camp.

my latest creation of the ribbons/pearls/chains collection. this one isn't as long as the first one i did, but i quite like the color combo. very sophisticated.
naz said it reminded him of chocolate. i don't think that's bad.

This little sequence is me eventually passing this fella in front of me. He was teasing me for the first two laps, picking up the speed and keeping it high enough to keep a good lead on me. He knew I was there.
But I held my pace and he faded. I took him on the hill.
