little did she know, in about an hour she would be wearing a hoodie and puffy jacket. oh, damn the fog!

The Wall of Tears (El Muro de las Lágrimas) was built by prisoners on Isabela island in 1945. The wall itself isn’t all that impressive to visit, but the Wall of Tears hike is spectacular.

The first stretch of the Wall of Tears hike was pretty unremarkable. But soon the trail took us through beautiful volcanic landscapes and past serene postcard beaches.

The hike is intensely hot, but eventually the trail reached a canopy of poisonous manchineel trees. Here, I came across several giant tortoises cooling themselves in the shade. April 2016.

In the 16th Century there was only sunlight and candlelight. Back when power had nothing to do with electricity. It was nice to see these Renaissance women at the end of the day, all decked out in their authentic Renaissance attire, down by the lake shoreline talking and enjoying the last glimmer of the days light...while enjoying each others company. Back in the day...before T.V. and the internet~

On this afternoon, Mom, Lucy, and I drove to Savannah and walked around the historic district. This photo was taken at Monterey Square. All buildings on the square, except for one, are original to the square, built in the mid to late 1800s.

We went tent camping at Frozen Head State Park from Saturday, April 26th through Monday, April 28th.

Saturday evening we had: Ribeye Steak, Idahoan Mashed Potatoes and canned corn for dinner.

Sunday morning I heated up Banquet Sausage links and Great Value Egg makers. We made Breakfast burritos with some Shredded cheddar cheese and pickled Jalepaños. For lunch, I made Pudgy pies (campfire pizza on white bread; with Pizza sauce, Shredded Mozzarella cheese and Pepperoni slices ). And for dinner we grilled Chicken breast, Shrimp, White onion and Peppers. We made fajitas.

I captured a time-lapse of the charcoal grill heating up (fuel burning off the charcoal briquettes), two slow shutter clips of our campfire and a star trail of the tree canopy and night sky.

Monday morning we packed up our camping gear in the car. Then we hiked from the Panther Run Trailhead up to DeBord Falls and back to our Subaru. Then we drove home!

Native Australian Plant. Another shot of the canopy of Hymenosporum flavum (Native Frangipani), taken further down. It belongs to the Pittosporaceae family and is not closely related to the common exotic Frangipani. The cream-colored flowers are fragrant and are produced in clusters. Can reach 20m tall in rainforest settings.

Peace, quiet and community life reign in this pretty seaside village, a repeat winner in the Canada-wide Communities In Bloom competition. Main streets are lined with restaurants, hanging flower baskets, unique independent retail outlets and friendly townsfolk.

A lively cultural scene is based out of The Old School House Arts Centre with its performance space, educational studios and galleries. Seawall walks, beachcombing and rambles through an old-growth forest not far from the town centre are on everyone’s daily to-do list.

Here you will find amazing sandy beaches, picture postcard views, gorgeous autumn scenery, world-class biking and hiking trails, salt-tinged ocean air, and the small-town charm.

Thank-you for your visit, and any faves or comments are always greatly appreciated.

A peaceful path winds through Hampton Park in Charleston, South Carolina, framed by towering oaks and vibrant blooming azaleas. The scene is alive with color, as pink, purple, and red flowers line both sides of the trail, creating a dreamlike tunnel beneath the gentle canopy of the trees.

Beautiful rose blooms, flower beds and greenery all around this elegantly landscaped and sculpted man-made lake in Spotsylvania, VA. Truly a picture perfect place 💕💯. There is no work crew, but one man and some volunteers (including a recent group of US Marines- Oorah!). So gorgeous 👏
