I discovered this 1" shell in my backyard today.

A small Jumping Spider (Salticidae sp.) looking up and providing the opportunity to 'peep under its skirts'.
That translucent light shining through the connection of its eight legs together with the focus plane hitting its eyes was a pleasing (if unplanned) result.

Rural New South Wales - Quirindi sunflower field - unfortunately there had been storms so the flowers weren't at their best and I was there in the heat of the day. I did the best I could.
I just love the look of this....this is actually one of the windows of The Sharp Centre for Design, Ontario College of Art & Design in Toronto... the building has some cool architecture, which I'll post some shots of later....This reflection and comp, while a bit odd, really caught my eye.... :-)
I knew that it was going to be a cloudless sunset, but I went anyway. While strolling up and down this pebble beach at Lunada Bay to settle in, I paid attention in particular to the ubiquitous amount of seaweed that washed up on the shore and decorated the beach like fallen leaves at a park in the fall. These translucent algae were illuminating while the sun was gently caressing the ocean surface with its magic hour touch.

I love the way light passes through these. I'm helpless to resist taking shots like this...
A 49er crew out practising. They had just capsized before this - drysuits or not that water is FREEZING on hands!

Inicialmente, aquando o click, não fiquei lá muito satisfeito por "esta amiguinha" se ter posicionado meio-luz, meio-sombra mas depois, no processamento da foto, acabei por achar interessante o "contraluz" no interior da asa... ;-)
After the shot my initial impression was not good as this little fellow has positioned itself half-light half in the shade but then during the editing I found interesting the backlight inside its wing... ;-)

Die kleinen, natürlichen Blüten dieser Phalaenopsis mag ich besonders gern.
The small and inartificial blooms are my favorits.
