Autumn leaf in the grass

Prunus Pissardi blossom, Veyrier (Switzerland)

My glorious hollyhocks made it! - Thank You for getting them on EXPLORE - presently #308... must be quick to catch it.....

Nature rarer uses yellow

Than another hue;

Saves she all of that for sunsets,--

Prodigal of blue,

Spending scarlet like a woman,

Yellow she affords

Only scantly and selectly,

Like a lover's words.

(Emily Dickinson)

Taken for the Two Word Wednesdays group.

My translucent beauties really MUST be viewed on black and LARGE! Thank You, you won't regret it.

Remember, we are all affecting the world every moment, whether we mean to or not. Our actions and states of mind matter, because we're so deeply interconnected with one another. Working on our own consciousness is the most important thing that we are doing at any moment, and being love is the supreme creative act.

This beautiful figurine is made from what appears to be either jade or glass, as it is translucent.

Strobist info: To make it glow, I put a Strobie 130 in a Rogue grid behind and to the right of the subject at 1 o'clock. The strobe, in manual mode, was triggered by a Yongnuo RF-603N. I held a silver reflector disc in front of the figure in an attempt to shed a little more light there. As you can see the colors vary depending on the thickness of the material.

Other still life pictures that I've taken are in my Still LIfe set. www.flickr.com/photos/9422878@N08/sets/72157635247182331/

A small group of shelf mushrooms on the Goodman Creek Trail, Oregon. Perhaps Pleurotus Ostreatus? If so, I should have chowed down!

Taken through a sheet of plastic smeared with butter.

The best of the three, smear-wise - with the least amount of butter - but unfortunately with lint from the paper towel I used to remove some of the butter.

Can’t say I liked any of them - but it was an interesting experiment.

Daily Dog Challenge - #5503 1/8 “Translucent”

Beautifully translucent amber-colored glass amphoriskos with cobalt blue handles; used for storing perfume. Blown into a two-part mold.

On the body is a frieze of sixteen downturned raised tongues on the upper body, and twenty-one upturned rounded tongues on the lower body; joined by a central band of twelve contiguous X-shaped lozenges bordered above and below by two horizontal raised lines. Faint iridescence and small patches of creamy white weathering, with some soil encrustation on interior.

I've been asked a lot about the luminescent quality of the resin I use for my dolls and the secret is in its translucency. Human skin is not opaque and if we stand against direct sunlight the thin parts of our bodies, like ears, light up. I wanted to give my dolls the same quality and after a long search I did find a superb polyurethane resin that grants this effect. It's also stronger than regular resin so tiny parts, like separately sculpted fingers, don't break as easily as in opaque old school resins.

Inamorata dolls are now available for preorder in 5 skin tones: Milk, Latte, Caramel, Chocolate and Coffee; 5 different head sculpts and 2 bust sizes.

Order now and get a 100 usd preorder discount! I should get sample dolls for make up testing in end of May and the production takes place in June.

This is from archives, Split Hibiscus from my terrace. Missing flowers, leaves, butterflies, dragon-flies, insects and other green things.

I wasn't sure if I have anything translucent for today's theme. So while picking up some stuff at the mall, I went to Diaso and fragrance bottle at SGD 2.18 for photo taking :)

I place the bottle lying down sideways and placed a few LED bulbs behind to create this.

Finally I succeeded to seize to take a nap of 90mins in today afternoon. Although anxiety is still there when the dream ends, at least I feel that today, a precious Saturday, I have done something purely for my own goodself.
