The Transit Finder website predicted a pass that was visible from my house today, so I set up the 6" Celestron and Herschel Wedge to get it.

I'm quite pleased with the detail level! I used a Nikon D500 in 60fps HD mode and a 2x barlow.

Glücklicher war ich selten, dass die vergleichsweise niederpreisige Alpha65 zehn Serienbilder in der Sekunde schafft. Das sind alle fünf Bilder des Flugzeugtransits zur heutigen Sonnenfinsternis. Alle entspr. Sonnescheiben hab ich auf einen schwarzen Hintergrund kopiert, der der Orginalbildgröße der Kamera entspricht. Die Sonnenscheiben sind nicht skaliert und entsprechen der Größe auf den Orginalbildern bei 800mm, entsprechend 1200mm Kleinbildequivalent Brennweite. Zum Einsatz kamen hier ein alter Sigma MD-MA 1,6x Telekonverter, aus der Zeit der Bajonettumstellung bei Minolta und eine f8/500mm Wundertüte mit T2 Schelle. Ich habe keinen ND-Filter oder ähnliches verwendet und habe lediglich den Zuschnitt eines schwarzen Bereiches einer alten Röntgenaufnahme provisorisch mit Tape vor die Frontlinse geklebt. Die Exif-Information 50mm spielt der elektronische Sigmakonverter ein, tatsächlich waren es in Kleinbildequivalent gemessen sogar 1200mm

I could say this was ICM. But I would be lying. I didn't realise the exposure was so long, so moved the camera while the shutter was open. I was going to bin the photo, but then I quite liked the look of it. So it has become ICM in the end. Sort of.
