For her Honors project, Jennifer is researching the transhumanist movement, which promotes human enhancement through technology. She's specifically focusing on a sub-movement within transhumanism that aims to extend human longevity through diverse methods, such as rejuvenation therapies, cyborgian replacement of body parts, and uploading of individual consciousnesses into computer programs. Her primary interest is whether and how such views promote an affirmative or renunciation (or neither) of the human body and embodiment.

About the Exhibition:

What if a sculpture or an image is a question, pondering who we are and where we are headed in relation to nature, technology, and creativity?

The interest in line, the interest in fiber and pixel and what they can become in the context of time, space and materials, is still the essence of my personal explorations: the mechanics of inspiration and visual thinking, the ethics of transhumanism, and a phygital mind.

While exploring the same subjects, the work has grown in scale.

It’s unclear to me if sculptures and moving images are interior or exterior spaces. They can be both. Connections of mind and body, material and immaterial, ancient and contemporary, bio and tech, all are complexities which are not opposites. If light is a machine, what is the spirituality of technology?

Building structures as questions induces countless little responses, reactions, decisions, shaping the space into a subjective mass of thoughts, memories, hopes, possibilities, but mostly, a desire for more tenderness.

Tonight we continue with our series about the image of God. We live in a world of double standards, a world of gray made by the world system, traditions, and culture of entertainment. For many people it’s a struggle to align their lives with the word of God and what it says about the sexual nature of man. Is it possible to remain pure in the sight of our Lord and Savior? Or have we all bought into the lies that have been thrown at us in movies, songs, or the words that people speak from their own wicked hearts? We’ll go from Genesis to the New Testament to see what the word of God says about sexual purity. Are you ready to be challenged in your walk? Because some consequences are eternal, and some are going to haunt you in your life before you see the Lord or get delivered from bondage.

There’s an image of God that we have in our heads that might not be who God really is. We must weigh everything: Our concepts, beliefs, and way of life up against the Word of God and our living King Jesus Christ. The King of Kings and Lord of Lords, the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End. The Prince of Peace and Righteous Judge, which is coming back to rule and reign forever. He is Holy, He is Holy, He is Holy!
