In the Glasgow Area, before "Strathclyde Transport" we had "Trans-Clyde" - this was the first diagrammatic route map, date 1979 after the re-opening of the Argyle line through Glasgow Central Low Level.
A sad and un-necessary loss in January 1983 was the line from Paisley to Kilmacolm but the section from Glasgow to Paisley Canal was re-opened in 1991. The line from Hamilton to Larkhall has also been added. Many other stations on existing routes were opened (or re-opened) reversing some of Beechings cuts.

Trans-Pennine Express (TPE)
I don't really follow modern traction but I think these sets are very eye-catching.
68025 Superb
SELNEC 219 was one of eight Seddon Pennine IV coaches delivered new to the PTE in the spring of 1970 with Plaxtons Panorama Elite body. Six were allocated to Ashton for the Trans-Lancs Express service from Bolton to Stockport and the coach is seen here at the former location on a dismal day in March 1971.
These coaches showed that the newly formed PTE was willing to support local industry as the Seddon works were in Oldham and although Seddon chassis were to feature in the fleet in the future with a large number of midibuses purchased for the Centreline service in central Manchester and one experimental battery powered bus in colaboration with Chloride, no more full size vehicles were taken. Indeed these vehicles were short lived as all had gone by 1973.

What the hell, ea? I suppose it’s supposed to get us thinking something about the destruction the automobile has done to the environment and that instead of having eagles and ravens and killer whales and thunderbirds and wolves on our totem poles, we now have Trans Am’s and Mercedes Benzes… It’s ugly, as I suppose it’s supposed to be, but it gets you thinking.
On the billboard to the left there was an add for Rotten Ronnie’s Restaurant. I couldn’t in good conscience post a photo with that kind of advertising on it. I changed it. I put my own billboard up. Now there’s a billboard were not going to see the likes of on our city streets any time soon. I wish though!

The northbound Trans Karoo from Cape Town on it's final leg from Klerksdorp to Johannesburg. The engines are Braamfontein's 25NC 3404 and sister 3476.
This was the third to last time the train was steam hauled, 8 March 1997, seen passing Boskop.

Last night we took the kids to see the Trans Siberian Orchestra - a rock band that incorporates classical, orchestral, symphonic, and progressive elements into hard rock and heavy metal - at the Air Canada Centre.
Since we were buying six tickets, I got the cheapest available. We were in the nose bleed section at the afternoon show. Fortunately for us, they weren't sold out and we were able to move up to much better seats.
It was a great spectacle - lots of coloured lights, lasers, smoke and fireworks.

The site was once a shoreline of tidal flats and massive forests. Later, it became an industrial zone of sawmills. The area has transformed with residential towers and businesses encircled by cyclists, light rail and most dominant of all – cars.
