I had just jaywalked across the street (which at that moment was empty of traffic). My partner is far more law-abiding and walked to the crosswalk. While I was waiting for her to catch up, I took another picture of this artwork.
“The automobile holds a unique position in our culture. It’s a manufactured want and symbol of extremes; practicality and luxury, necessity and waste. We can see this in the muscular Trans Am, the comfortable BMW, and the workhorse Civic. Trans Am Totem also questions the cycle of production and consumption.” Marcus Bowcott

A second interpretation of my previous World Traveler vs. Time Traveler drawing. There was TWA and there will be something similar in the future but it will be Trans-WorldS instead of singular world/globe.
N7599A Boeing B707-323C American Airlines. Delivered to AA in 1967, N7599A went American Trans Air in 1983. 2 years later down south to Transbrasil, then to Africa where she served with numerous carriers (like Air Swazi Cargo www.flickr.com/photos/propfreak/15878802756/in/photolist-...) . Finally crashed at Lubumbashi in 2001 when in service with Equalfight as TN-AGO (scan from my collection - not my shot).

In the Glasgow Area, before "Strathclyde Transport" we had "Trans-Clyde" - this was the first diagrammatic route map, date 1979 after the re-opening of the Argyle line through Glasgow Central Low Level.
A sad and un-necessary loss in January 1983 was the line from Paisley to Kilmacolm but the section from Glasgow to Paisley Canal was re-opened in 1991. The line from Hamilton to Larkhall has also been added. Many other stations on existing routes were opened (or re-opened) reversing some of Beechings cuts.

Taken with and edited on my iPhone via Lightroom Mobile. I took additional photos of her with my DSLR; they'll be posted elsewhere (including her social media profiles)
I'm a veteran of many conference booths, but this is my first time as a 'booth babe'.
Some of you may know that I serve as an officer in the United States Air Force and that transgender individuals are still not allowed to openly serve in the US military. We all take a risk to be who we are. This weekend I was at the Philly Trans Health conference and was extremely proud to be supporting SPART*A Trans a support and advocacy organization for trans service members.
The week has been full of great news leading up to our goal, but we're not there yet. Please read the article at mobile.nytimes.com/2015/06/04/opinion/let-transgender-tro... and watch the video of my good friends Logan and Laila.
Of immediate impact to me and my family was the fabulous news released by the Air Force (www.af.mil/News/ArticleDisplay/tabid/223/Article/590656/a...) stating "Identification as transgender, absent a record of poor duty performance, misconduct, or a medically disqualifying condition, is not a basis for involuntary separation."
Huge news. But, the regs are still on the books. All the services need to get to an equal footing and policies need to be put in place for open service.
Please see my other picture if you're interested in purchasing one of our SPARTA shirts. All proceeds go to helping trans service members get support in emergency situations.
Thanks!
SELNEC 219 was one of eight Seddon Pennine IV coaches delivered new to the PTE in the spring of 1970 with Plaxtons Panorama Elite body. Six were allocated to Ashton for the Trans-Lancs Express service from Bolton to Stockport and the coach is seen here at the former location on a dismal day in March 1971.
These coaches showed that the newly formed PTE was willing to support local industry as the Seddon works were in Oldham and although Seddon chassis were to feature in the fleet in the future with a large number of midibuses purchased for the Centreline service in central Manchester and one experimental battery powered bus in colaboration with Chloride, no more full size vehicles were taken. Indeed these vehicles were short lived as all had gone by 1973.
