Vancouver's newest public art installation questions the cycle of consumption.
The site was once a shoreline of tidal flats and massive forests. Later, it became an industrial zone of sawmills. The area has transformed with residential towers and businesses encircled by cyclists, light rail and most dominant of all – cars.

This was taken part of the Voluntary Work Center's Car Photography workshop. Everyone had a lot of fun shooting some classic cars like this Pontiac Trans-Am, Corvette Stingray, Pontiac Firebird and some other cars.
I didn't have my tripod near me so I had to push the ISO up and take this hand held.
Two off camera flashes were used for this shot. I was planning on using a third but it didn't work for some reason.

operated by Trans-Florida since 1977 -
retired DAB in 1983 - scrapped in 1991
The Vickers Viscount 745D was acquired for passenger flights, but was too expensive to operate and was sold off as scrap.

The sad backstory. . . Arkansas just passed one of the most extreme Anti-Trans bills yet and they even had the gall to name it the Arkansas Save Adolescents from Experimentation (SAFE) Act when this bill will actually cause the death of some trans children because collectively they have one of the highest suicide rates in the country. This so-called "SAFE Act" when the bill will ban doctors from providing gender-affirming care, including puberty blockers and hormones, to trans people under the age of 18, or else risk losing their license. The legislation is rooted in a host of misinformation about gender-affirming care, with proponents of the bill arguing for its necessity under the guise of protecting kids. One of the bill’s Republican sponsors described gender-affirming treatments as “at best experimental and at worst a serious threat to a child’s welfare.”

A Trans Europ Express (TEE) heads past Chateau de la Batiaz at Martigny in the Rhone Valley, Switzerland. The loco is a Swiss Re4/4 II in TEE colours and the train is probably the return working of the "Lemano" Milan - Geneva service. The distinctive red and cream TEE trains once covered Europe with first class only services aimed at the business traveller but new high speed lines such as the TGV and the growth in air travel meant that the services started to wind down in the 1980s and ceased completely in 1995.
