I have been traveling since I was born since my parents were in the Air Force. Even as I got older riding with other friends during my travels and riding Amtrack trains around the country it drove me nuts that I could not stop when I wanted to stop to take photos of the many things I have seen in my travels. Finally I was given the chance to be free and take photos anywhere and at anytime I want. I pulled over every time I had seen a train with graffiti and I'm always amazed how this traveling art is sitting in the middle of the desert. When I use to ride the Amtrack train I would see box car trains covered with graffiti art sitting in the middle of a forest with snow hundreds of miles away from towns and cities. Graffiti trains are a true traveling art gallery.
Driving a 2011 Ford Fiesta is a perfect vehicle to travel for filmmakers and photographers. 40mpg you can't beat that. I drove from the west coast to the east coast and back and the car still drives as smooth as the the first day I got it.
WE had a lovely 83rd BIRTHDAY lunch at the LE TRAIN BLEU resturant at the GARE DU LYON in PARIS for JACKIE.
The waiter was a charmer. He was so happy to wait on us when he heard it was JACKIEs 83 rd birthday!
JACKIE had her fave rack of lamb which was excellent along with some potatoes dauphine (cheese):::I had my fave ROASTED VEGGIES which were incredible:::along with a good glass of red:
When it came time for dessert; he brought out the specialty BABA AU RUM with a candle::::he then sang HAPPY BIRTHDAY in french to JACKIE. He explained that this dessert is one of the original desserts when the resturant opened back in 1900; He then sliced the cake open and pulled out a bottle of rum from his cart: Tradition says; pour the rum over the cake and then leave the bottle on the table ; in case you would like a touch more! That certainly went well with us:::hahahaha
LE TRAIN BLEU is a over the top resturant that was built in the 1900;s for the WORLD EXPO; It is truely a place to go in PARIS though it is a tad pricey: Well worth it:::
JACKIE had a wonderful day:::and loved the cards and birthday wishes::::
bisous

Served by c2c trains between London Fenchurch Street and Grays. This station is in the middle of an industrial area and is somewhat run-down; but passengers numbers are expected to increase as the Thames Gateway area is regenerated and the station may be refurbished. The flyover in the background carries the A13 road to Southend, which was upgraded as part of the plan to regenerate the area.

'Hear my train a'coming' - said Jimi Hendrix.
After 6 weeks of vacation in Queensland it was time to commence stage one of the long journey home, on the 0816 departure, Q992 Rockhampton Tilt Train, to Brisbane.
I paid a little extra for a business class seat on the six & half hour's service.
The catering services onboard were excellent, and the passenger areas spotless
