Though there isn`t much snow the ice and the cold on this January day kept most of society home bound.

My brother in law has a Explore theory - "Every day Explore set must have a train photo". I decided to check that and started to look opurtunity to shot one.

This shot is combined with 2 photos taken with Samsung S4, first background shot in HDR mode and train in normal mode both combined in PS and processed in LR.

It is used for tourist rides through the redwoods now. It is called the Skunk Train because the old time fuel smelled really bad !

This is a photo of the weathered surface on a snow plow train engine at the railway museum in Musquodoboit Harbour.

CSX train Q135 exits the Harper's Ferry tunnel from Maryland and enters West Virginia on a sunny winter morning.

Harper's Ferry is an interesting and historic town for both the railroad and the nation. Lots of cool stuff around here.

Now used for tourist for rides through the Northern California Redwoods. It is called the Skunk Traini because back in the old days the fuel smelled like skunk spray.

This was for a trains theme but to later to enter :-)

Back in the 80s, I had countless nighttime rides behind these locomotives. There was something so soothing about hearing that familiar engine sound on a chilly night.

I’ve used the ‘panning’ technique, moving the camera to track the subject’s motion.
