As I'm making progress on my Island town I am in need of a number of small ships to fill the harbour. They have to be small in order not to obstruct the view on the Island.
This one is actually based on one of my earlier sloops but with a color scheme and theme based on the small ship from the classic set Imperial Trading Post.

(Although the rigging is different due to Ideas rules concerning the use of custom material.)
As per suggestion of Fehron Argonaut I added a small mast and rerigged the ship with a lateen sail on the second mast.
I figured I might as well do a complete custom rigging. Looks much better now :).

May 8, 2023: Ute Trading Post neon sign in Manitou Springs, Colorado. One source on the internet says the sign is from 1934. The actual trading post has been closed for years. I used the Bluristic App on my iPhone for about a 3-second exposure. The app allows me to lock one section of the image in place and blur the rest.
Philip Harding Klimanek (1883-1965) was born in the Czech Republic, at the time his place of birth was part of the Austro-Hungarian empire. In ca. 1905 he started to work for Holland-China Trading Company, in Hong Kong.
In 1939, when Charles Gesner van der Voort arrived in Shanghai to work for the company, he was Charles' superior. In a letter home he wrote: "Played chess with Klimanek in the French Club" [translation Pieter Lommerse, the French Club was Le Cercle Sportif Français, a fashionable place to be in the 1930s and it still exists today].
Philip Harding Klimanek was also a juror for the Hong Kong judicial system, which can be found in gwulo.com, for the last time in 1941.
His grandson wrote to me: "Though he had been based in Shanghai before the war we know he was captured in Hongkong on 24th Dec 1941 during the “Battle of Hongkong”. He had been a volunteer with the “isolated Tytan [this should probably be Tai Tam, or Tytam at the time] Godows of the Food Control from November to the end of December 1941” We assume he was involved with food conservation as the Japanese were approaching."
"He was beaten up on capture and needed medical treatment. He was in and out of Stanley camp until the Japanese surrender in 1945. As he was of Austro-Hungarian descent after the war his nationality was hard to determine as his papers and all his possessions had been lost, his health was very poor as a result of how he had been treated during the war. Eventually he managed to get a temporary Czechoslovakian passport in 1948 issued in Nanking China. After a short period in the UK looking for work he returned to the HCTC and was traveling between Shanghai and Hongkong. He retired in Hongkong and returned to England 31st Dec 1950."

Philip Harding Klimanek was a close friend of Willem Kien, another early HCHC-employee, later to become director of the company. Willem Kien's daughter in law recalls seeing him during visits in The Netherlands, together with his wife Zoia and daughter Sylvia. Also Anneke Knüppe-de Jongh, daughter of former HCHC-employee and director Frans de Jongh, has warm memories of the family, which her family stayed closely in touch with.
This photo shows a tennis tournament in Qingdao (previously Tsingtao or Tsingtau) against the Japanese. This tournament must have been rather painful for Philip Harding Klimanek, as his brother Paul had been killed by the Japanese a year before.

I am so excited to release this. I collect trading cards IRL (Pokemon ) and in the trading card world it's full of "waifu" cards, and so rarely are there any "husbando" sets so I decided to make one in Second Life with a variety of amazing guys who let me use their artwork. This is just Volume I - there will be more volumes, and expansions (yes, waifus too!) so I hope you all enjoy this!
The cards are wearable with a bento pose, and they also can be added to the display case that's available. It's scripted so each card snaps into its proper spot in the case. Each card also links you to the husbando's social or Flickr page. 😃

A leyland Titan A620 THV stands on the wash road at Talisman Coaches.The company ceased trading in June.
I don't really know much about this building, as there doesn't appear to be much information about it readily accessible on the Internet, but I have passed it several times in the past week as I've been travelling to work a different route to usual.
It's near the big roundabout in Wandsworth, and is part of an area called Plantation Wharf right next to the Thames.
It is fairly unusual in its design compared to most other tower blocks in the area so I thought it was worth trying to take a snap or two for posterity.
Easier said than done, due to its height and the fact that it is pretty much surrounded by buildings which preclude one from being able to capture it in its entirety, even with my 17mm tilt shift Canon lens. This shot is from up the road, slightly more telephoto in length at 88mm on the 24-105 lens ...

Most of you know how I first came across Barbie as a very young child at my Mum’s work Christmas party, where they had a whole table full of old leftover stock ‘Trade-in TNTs’ from the Mattel headquarters down the road, that they gave away to the daughters of staff, while I got a stupid TV board game. It was the only time in my life where I really wished that I was a girl! LOL I think that also started my life-long Barbie obsession. And even though I have amassed quite a few lovely TNTs for my collection, I never had one of those ‘Trade-In’ gals…. until now. And what’s more, she is in my favourite hair colour, that deep, rich ‘Chocolate Bon-Bon!’ She came in her ‘baggie’ and her hair cello was still on, (you can just make it out in the photo with her OSS and box, lying near her feet,) so she was virtually unplayed with … her hair and ribbon bow are perfect! (Though I had to remove that cello as it was starting to actually stick to the back of her hair!!!) She’s not totally minty perfect as parts of her have faded somewhat , and she was missing her wrist tag, but it was SO great to finally fulfil a childhood longing… only took 45+ years! :P I decided to dress her in my favourite ‘Pajama Pow’ which looks so great with that hair bow! (I have the original yellow flats but changed it up with some orange bowed flats… the groovy pink belt is Becky’s!)
Now, you probably all also know about Mattel coming up with that genius trade-in program to launch their new Twist ‘N Turn Barbie in 1967, where one could trade in their old Barbie doll for this gal for less than half price... It was a massive success.
