I went to shoot a sunset over Brightwell Barrow but foolishly hadn't really done a recon before and the angle I planned just didn't work, thankfully a couple of tracks in the crop provided a plan B.

This leopard was tracking with a sense of impending doom.
Suddenly two hyenas raced onto the scene and the leopard scrambled up a nearby tree! Who knew leopards were afraid of hyenas - perhaps because there were two together?
Blue railroad train, I'm goin' down the railroad track
It makes me feel so doggone blue to listen to that old smokestack

Happy Saturday everyone! No sunrise for me today with nothing but grey skies around on the south coast. Potential for sunset later so keep your fingers crossed!
Days like this call for one from the archives, so here's one from a couple of months back. That misty morning at Corfe we managed so many compositions before the mist lifted, it was amazing! This one is taken from the tracks near Corfe Station.

With every new tide, a fresh canvas is set where the local inhabitants can leave their trails. These tracks were discovered on one of the many sandy beaches uncovered at low tide on the Georges River. It looks like multiple species frequented here on this occasion.
i decided to add queen anne's lace to my wildflower garden. so i took a bucket and shovel to the nearest railroad. (isn't it interesting how this flower grows around all train tracks?). as i put shovel to ground, an older man walked toward me.
him: what are you doing?
me: digging up queen anne's lace for my garden.
him: you can't do that!
me: oh, is there an ordinance against this?
him: no, but that thing is a weed. you don't want it. it'll grow up all over your yard.
me: well, i think it's pretty.
him: fine, do whatever you want.
i think human perceptions are interesting. what's a flower versus a weed? what is beauty? what is kindness? we hold many different views. each day i see or learn something new.
