Right next to CN Tower. One of the major train depot in Toronto. A bit too much tracks in the pix though, I think. However, love the contrasting colors of the train, the inspector and the rest of the picture.
You can't get very far in Ames without hitting a set of railroad tracks. I've lived here for 10 yrs and never taking track pictures before...

Western State's Alisha Williams, right, gets a hug from teammate Leora Jordan after the pair finished the womens' 1,500m run during the 2005 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Elmer Gray Stadium on the campus of Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas. Williams won the event with a time of 4:28.53 while Jordan finished sixth in the race with a time of 4:32.05.

I was at Dyer waiting for a late running Q642 to get through town when I heard him call a "clear" at the Dyer diamonds, the crossing of the CN ex EJ&E mains. I started to get set up when a CN work train came rolling through at track speed, running right in front of the northbound CSX freight. Q642 went in the big hole and managed to stop in time as the yellow CN train kept rolling east. So, Q642's conductor had to walk the train to make sure the hazmat cars were all OK. Unfortunately, the train had Route 30 blocked for over half an hour at 600pm, not good. Back on the move, SD70MAC 4827 finally comes into the interlocking.
This was one of the jams when ALL of the skaters were on the track. It was insane!

There is something sad about the sight of rails that lead nowhere . Near Ilkeston the Stanton New Works was well and truly dead and gone on the 1984 sunday when the picture was taken.
Hitherto - and through many decades - its workers had assumed that their workplace would continue forever !
