For the All New Scavenger Hunt #12 - Railroad tracks.
These run about a quarter mile from my house. The trains sound their whistles at two cross streets, but I seldom notice them!
Below is a crop of the railroad car on the siding which I am posting without comment.

I always shoot these tracks when I get a new camera. This day was one of the hottest of the year, tracks were hot to touch :-)
An attempt to show the scale of Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp. This shot was taken from the end of the camp railroad, looking towards the enterance. The camp extends even further, so it really doesn't do it justice. But it gives some idea of how big this elaborate and well-thought-out place of mass-murder is.
The last streetcar ran in the capital in 1962, on this street in 1960, but the track is still in place on two streets. The centre line is the conduit for electric power. This is P street - which with O street formed a terminal loop.
Wikipedia has a useful map and lots more information. Conduit current colection was mandated by congress in the capital - as also happened in central London and a few other cities.
This track leads to so many adventures.
J CHURCH - "The Track"
January blows through the track,
You're too hot to feel it on your back,
All alone with everyone,
Do you still remember fun?
Tonight the darkness of the 'loin,
You'll need more than a bunch of coins,
She's there for you but not to stay,
You're invisible anyway
I can't hear a thing you say,
(There's a place where we can go)
I can't hear a thing you say,
(Nobody will ever know)
I can't hear a thing you say,
(There's a place where we can go, we are invisible)
I can't hear a thing you say
Loneliness is a part of trust,
Now you give yourself to lust,
If you're looking for love then you're out of luck,
And a blowjob costs you fifty bucks,
Walk around most of the night,
You have to wonder about your life,
The further that you go,
The less you seem to know
I can't hear a thing you say,
(There's a place where we can go)
I can't hear a thing you say,
(Nobody will ever know)
I can't hear a thing you say,
(There's a place where we can go, we are invisible)
I can't hear a thing you say
In broken English, she says to you,
"Hey, I know something we can do,
Do you wanna for a while?"
You wanna believe the smile,
There comes a point when even sex,
Seems empty and irrelevant,
"Can't you stay a while?"
I can't hear a thing you say,
(There's a place where we can go)
I can't hear a thing you say,
(Nobody will ever know)
I can't hear a thing you say,
(There's a place where we can go, we are invisible)
I can't hear a thing you say
