Hot Topic's Hot Pink Iridescent Blue Violet Glitter polish with their Hologram Star polish. My 2nd attempt in doing gradient nails. I've had this on for a week, so a little tip wear.
The color is absolutely gorgeous, but application was a complete nightmare. It was TOO thick to evenly apply, dry nail polish chunks were in there, and the brush strands were uneven, like a bad haircut. I was so frustrated with it overall.
Even though I love glitter and hot pink on nails, I don't think I'll be pulling this one out in a long while.
The Hologram Star polish was okay. I had to dig to get a star though.
This will be my second photo submission for the InspireMedia’s theme/topic (connect/verbind) exhibition held later this year. I took this photo a while ago on October 6th 2017 on the GroteMarkt in Groningen. For me this is connection. Art meets in the street with a proud smile showing what he made so far. He (Rene) creates his art drawings often with twoo pens at the same time. When-ever you see hem (sitting, looking and drawing at the same time) stop and make a chat with him he would like that. His proud and friendly smile shows that. I choose this photo not becuase of it’s quality (my learning moment) but because of the interaction. The interested vibe to it and the joy that art can give within somebody’s heart. And the mine becuase i was also smiling at the same time. Thankyou! The Design Museum in London has recently relocated to what used to be the Commonwealth Institute. It's a mecca for photographers given its swooping roof and many elevated vantage points.

The storm has blown over so we continue our walk around the airport. Not all the roads are paved and are still dusty tracks like this one here. However, modern times are infringing and I don't think it will be like this for long.
I went to Trafalgar Square to shoot the unfolding events around the London 2012 Paralympics. I ended up with a number of keepers amongst which this is one of my faves.

Like seven times two minutes of my life just went by that I'll never see again.

-And I thought I buried those for good.

You understand I'm a dog?

So now I have to learn how to tell time? I refer you to my

Last I heard it was no crime to lick yourself clean.
"That's disgusting."
I smell cigar smoke, beer, Old Spice and sweat
through every pore of your skin. Clearly, I'm the
disgusting one.
"Ahem, clearly, indeed. Moving on: pees on teammates."
Yup. Every time we're in the huddle I can't help but think:
urine the huddle now!
"Licks sweat off their faces instead of using the water bottles."
They don't WANT me using the water bottles EITHER!
"Wolfs down food during team meals and then jumps onto table and uses puppy-dog eyes to beg scraps from other players."
Geez, you make that sound like a bad thing.
"Shredded the record books. Literally, this time."
Hey, throw me a bone. Everyone down to the ball boy were yapping of my shredding of the record books so when I went to see for myself I found them only slightly dog-eared and didn't want to disappoint them, so...did somebody mention a bone?
"And there's plenty more here. How do you feel overall about these 136 complaints?"
136?! That I'm glad I can't count.
"Count, indeed. One last question: What are the Redblacks'
chances of bringing the Grey Cup back to Ottawa this year?"
I believe that if our special teams perform as expected and
our defence remains aggressive, then with the playbook Coach Campbell has instituted and the entire offence on board, our chances are excellent.
"Wow, I was expecting a real sarcastic answer."
Well, I was expecting a real reporter.

Contest topic: Science and Discoveries
I've spent some time to finish my pic for this month's contest! My boyfriend gave me the idea and I thought it was great! I have made some little changes only. I had to sew the monkey suit for Allen (it only took me a day, though), to take some photos and then... Photoshop! I wanted a white background and, although I used a white backgroud for my pics, I had to clean it a lot! It was quite troublesome because in my screen it was white, but when my boyfriend saw the pics in his Mac, he told me there were lots of mistakes ><
Well, at last it is finished!
UPDATE: I won the contest! ^o^ I'm happy, although it's only a forum montly contest :p My prize is to organize the next contest and I have already decided the topic.

The White-throated Dipper (Cinclus cinclus) is an aquatic passerine bird found in Europe and the Middle East, also known as the European Dipper or just Dipper. The species is divided into several subspecies on colour differences, especially of the pectoral band. The Dipper of Great Britain and Ireland is known as the "Brown-Bellied" Dipper (C. c. gularis), while the Irish race is Cinclus cinclus hibernicus.
The Dipper is a rotund, short-tailed bird, dark above and white-breasted, closely associated with swiftly running rivers and streams or the lakes into which these fall. The Dipper often perches bobbing spasmodically with its short tail uplifted on the rocks round which the water swirls and tumbles.
It acquired its name from these sudden dips, not from its diving habit, though it dives as well as walks into the water. It flies rapidly and straight, its short wings whirring swiftly and without pauses or glides, calling a shrill zil, zil, zil. It will then either drop on the water and dive or plunge in with a small splash. From a perch it will walk into the water and deliberately submerge, but there is no truth in the assertion that it can defy the laws of specific gravity and walk along the bottom.
This is one of a pair that were singing and appearing to be paired up under a bridge near Dublin city.

This shot was actually taken a couple of years ago. It was Gloomy, rainy day, which means there wasn't much of a sky to speak of.
Indian Fort Mountain was home to the Hopewell Indians from about 400 BC until about 100 AD. Probably should've mentioned that when I posted my first shot from here several days ago, but I guess it's better late than never.
The mountain itself is owned and managed by Berea College and has some of the best overlooks I've seen in Kentucky.

The waterfall dried up so mom had to water the plants with the hose. I helped.

Toby making lemonade out of my lemons, as I hose down the plants beside the right waterfall. That pump died (of old age) and it looks like it could be a few weeks before we can get it replaced.
Sadness - as all the damselfly nymphs on that side have probably already perished, unless they managed to scamper from the right side to the left before the remaining water evaporated.

I'm going to return to a topic I've likely beaten to death in the past...but it is once again timely. During the macro photography nature season -- roughly April through October here -- I go out almost every non-rainy day. Typically I shoot 500-700 exposures each time, but going over 1000 is not unusual. Next day the same, and the next, and...so forth.
Generally in the past I've uploaded two photos to Flickr each day...one floral shot and one 'wildlife' image. Sometimes two of each per day.
The math is pretty easy to figure. Virtually all of the shots taken do not get uploaded to my stream. Some do 'down the road'; most never see the light of day. Between November and March I draw on some of these 'archived' images in order to stay active in uploading. Even so, if you figure six months of doing that -- say 180 days or so -- and adding two to four images each day, you can see that that doesn't total much more than a single day's shooting, by number.
A lot of the photos taken each day just aren't good enough to share, and quite a few others are duplicative. Still thousands of images from each spring / summer / fall that might have been seen, just don't make it to Flickr.
Clearly what I'll be uploading from now to next spring, as far as nature / macro shots are concerned, will be from earlier in 2015, or perhaps even farther back than that. This is one of those...not previously seen, or even processed before now.
Photography is, ultimately, about preserving memories. Here's a memory for you.

Death is obviously a topic we will have to deal with, sooner or later. As such, I suppose we all think about it from time to time. In this study, I wanted to express the feelings of the deceased person's lover, depicting his own world collapsing, as she is departing for her last journey.
Some fun facts about the photos:
- My wife and I posed for the couple. I wanted the shroud to make nice folds on her body, so I put it in the water. It was quite cold, and the shooting session was punctuated by interesting shouts and laughs!
- My wife is also posing for the menacing presence, incoming from the background. In a way, she embodies her own death in that image.
- The dead faces in the rifts are made of a plastic skull wrapped in duct tape, to make them look a bit like dried corpses rather than normal skulls.
- If you look carefully in the upper left corner, you will spot a pair of scissors. My wife wanted them to be included there, as a reference to the Parcae. In ancient Roman religion and myth, the Parcae were the female personifications of destiny, often called the Fates in English. They controlled the metaphorical thread of life of every mortal and immortal from birth to death (which occurred when they cut the thread with their scissors).
