I was talking to a couple family members. While viewing this sunset last night. We all really enjoyed it. Hopefully people here enjoy it the same way we did.

This topic is near and dear to me. As a victim of cyber-bullying I understand how it can change your life.
The wounds on the inside take longer to heal than wounds on the outside do. They hurt more, they last longer, they alter who you are. Though it always makes you feel the way I look in this pic.
If you need help, don't hesitate to reach out for someone.

Since lockdown Niqui has discovered crochet, and is loving it, especially with these colourful yarns!!
At the end of the loch in Clais Fhearnaig, which was my lucnh spot for the day, is this dreamy waterfall. Lovely sat there, out of the wind, in the sun with the water bubbling over the rocks.
Getting up one very frosty morning, I found this amazing structure about 2 inches high, growing from the birdbath. Completely round it looks like a frozen tornado, or whirlpool.
Climbing the slopes of Conachcraig, the deep Glen behind us leads to the snowy wintry slopes of Lochnagar. Clouds are over the snowy mountains in the distant Cairngorms.
Conachcraig is a Corbett standing at 865 meters (2837 feet). A Corbett is a Scottish mountain between 2500 and 3000 feet high, with at least 500 feet of descent on all sides.
Taken before it became a full moon, so the terminator shows the details of some of the craters on the surface of the moon.
A hot topic in Europe in these days. During the time of locally generated town gas from coal distillation, the 'town' or 'coal' gas was stored in metal gas holders often incorrectly called 'gasometers'..
An inner bottomless tank contains the gas and it rises and falls on a water seal. Tracks on the six upright pillars guide the tank. In any city or town they would dominate the skyline. This one at Fakenham, Norfolk, is a relatively tiny version for a small town and built in 1888.

HMM-- the piece itself is just under 2 inches tall and this is a portion of it. need to refresh my memory before i decide whether or not to choose this for the HMM topic of glaze...... but it's SO pretty!!
Climbing up from Glen Lui below us, following this narrow path on the bike with snow on the high mountains.
Before we went to lockdown I managed to get out on the bike into the highlands. I'm heading up Glen Lui, which can be seen below us, then heading to Clais Fhearnaig to eventually reach Glen Quoich before getting back to the car. Hardly saw a soul and so glad to get out.
This week's Macro Mondays entry - topic being, Line Symmetry.
Note: The "Line of Symmetry" is the imaginary line where you could fold the image and have both halves match exactly.
You might say, I put my heart into this photographic
challenge ... :-)
What a nice topic for the week? Science and photography... two of my favorite things. :)
For the subject, I searched on directional freezing mentioned in the discussion to produce the clear ice. This was my third attempt as the previous two did not go well (good bye exploded cherry). Hahaha.
I built a DIY container with cut plastic bottle wrapped with aluminum foil to allow only one side to freeze. I used barbecue sticks and nylon string to hold the strawberry under water because it floats all over. The small piece left in the photo was supposed to be at the back part but the strawberry spun around while floating. Oh well.... :)
The explosion looking effect and the red streaks going upwards was not an intentional effect. I think the strawberry got squeezed while freezing and there are air inside being pushed outwards. I used a yellow background to emphasize this.
For the lighting I used a strobe from the front which actually reflected on the ice. I was chasing against the melting subject so did not have time to find the right angle to take away the reflection. Oh well again... :) hahaha.
I really enjoyed this weeks topic. I hope you guys like the pic as well. Thanks in advance for comments and faves. HMM!!!
A tree stands above its compatriots with the backdrop of Pressendye, our target for the day, in the background.
Pressendye is just a small Graham of 620 meters (2034 feet), but a 15 Km (9 mile) circuit definitely stretched the legs.
I've long been intending to try creating an "Out-Of-Bounds" image, in which the subject is made to extend beyond a frame, but I hadn't gotten around to it. So when the "Framed" topic came up in the Our Daily Challenge group, it seemed like a good time to give it a go.
I was happy with the result when I got the gator and the frame finished, but it seemed to need something more, so I added the text and additional frame. This image covers a second ODC topic, "Animals," as well.
The alligator isn't real, by the way. It's a souvenir made of ceramic-like material that my wife bought as a surprise for me at the St. Augustine Alligator Farm when we were in Florida last year. What a sweetie she is, and it's a much better kind of surprise than being "surprised" by one of these critters on the trail too. :-)
I am also adding this image to the Sliders Sunday group.

Red Squirrel (Sciurus vulgaris)
Taken in the back garden above the feeding station on a cold damp day but still managing to look cute..
These mushrooms were actually quite large and were growing nicely among the grassy fronds of the forest floor.
A line of glass marbles reflected in a mirror, refracting the spotted background within their glass interior. The background, to reveal a secret, is a cheese grater ..

Splashes from the cascades above Glas Allt Falls have formed these strange structures over the surface of the rocks.
My 8th bike trip sees me climbing up from Loch Muick to Glas Allt Falls in freezing but beautiful conditions.
Popular little hamburger joint in my city found among the downtown buildings. This was a drive by capture and I was pretty happy with the clarity on this handheld shot.

an image, a story
I think a good photo can provide an “access key” to a certain topic or situation, it makes us ask what, where, why, it awakens emotions, thoughts, memories of situations experienced and we want to know more.
At the same time, the careful reading of the image, its aesthetic/technical analysis can facilitate the understanding and memorization of concepts and events, ..... better if I stop here .....

A cluster of tiny white fungi grow from the side of an old tree stump. I have no idea what they are so any fungus experts able to provide an ID would be appreciated.
I was lucky enough to spot this fine Red Deer stag digging through the snow to get to the soft grasses below. You can see the snow being kicked up by it's front left hoof ..
THE LETTER "G" is the topic for Saturday, June 29, 2019, Group Our Daily Challenge.
It's been incredibly hot here in Cologne the last days,
about 95 F.
Too hot to take pictures!
But in the garden in the shade, we have a good time.
We have gained our first summit of the day, marked by the rocky cairn on the peak of Mayar. We also get a fine view out over the Scottish Highlands, with the water of Backwater Reservoir in the distance. It's mighty windy up here, with winds around 40mph (65kph) making it pretty cold, and the rain is catching up rapidly and soon to arrive.
After a trip back up to Aberdeen for meetings at the office, I stayed a little longer to climb Mayar and Driesh. Mayar stands at 928 meters (3044 feet) and is my 29th Munro, and gives me the 10% of Munro's bagged I have always wanted. Driesh, at 947 meters (3106 feet), is my 30th Munro and the 2nd of the two I climbed this day.
A long weekend in London sees us staying at this hotel, with fine views of St. Katherine's Docks on the Thames and City of London beyond.
We're camping at Bargara (out of Bundaberg) . I went to the beach, before sunrise this morning & the pink sky was beautiful & reflecting on the sand at low tide.
I've taken Soooo many sunrise photos, and on a morning like this, the beauty gave me a big Smile & joy in my heart.
A gentle camera movement helps to give another element to the scene.
At the upper reaches of the Fairy Pools on the Isle of Skye and the scenery is just stunning. We stopped here, took our shoes and socks off and paddled in the cool waters of Allt Coir a'Mhadaidh. With the dramatic backdrop of the Cuillin Mountains it was a wonderful place to sit and relax.

It's quarter to three
There's no one in the place, 'cept you and me
So set 'em up, Joe
I got a little story I think you should know
We're drinkin' my friend
To the end of a brief episode
Make it one for my baby
And one more for the road
