Two Weirton Steel S2’s pull several cars of ingot molds out of one of the mill buildings in Weirton, West Virginia. For those who think that today’s post-9/11 security measures are new, the steel industry carried a WWII anti-espionage policy that gave them a reputation that steered railfans from setting foot on the company’s property. The circumstances around this photo are a prime example. After shooting this scene from a state highway bridge, we turned around to see a Weirton Steel security officer parked next to us. Despite our being on a public sidewalk, he insisted that we leave without further photography, or he would take us in. Although he had no legal ground, we chose not to risk half our day dealing with a small-time cop and move on.
the squirrels really cleaned out the innards of this pumpkin... the shell was the only thing left... it weighed nothing! I was going to toss it, but decided to see what would happen next.... and it gives me something to photograph...

L'origine del nome della band non è stata resa ufficiale per molti anni. Alcuni dicevano che deriva da due marche di cartine per rullare sigarette, Zig-Zag e Top; altri che non era altro che un tributo al noto bluesman Z.Z. Hill, altri ancora che si intendesse facilitare la ricerca degli album della band negli scaffali dei negozi, sempre all'ultima posizione a causa della doppia zeta. La vera origine, a detta di Gibbons e trascritta anche nel suo libro (Rock + Roll Gearhead), è che si tratta di un tributo al maestro di blues B.B. King. Lo hanno voluto chiamare Z.Z. King invece di B.B. King. poi decisero di sostituire "King" con "Top", creando il nome "ZZ Top".

I can't get enough of this car. You rarely see a car that makes so much power do so gracefully and with finesse! This car is as quick as it looks, with twin turbochargers making massive amounts of boost. For more details, see the rest of the photos int his set.
