#AbFav_January
A blue sky, a tree covered in white shiny frost, pure winter delight.
Crisp cold air invigorating my soul, an image filling me with the joy of beauty.
I wish you the best of days and thank you for your time. Magda (*_*)

This is one image in a series I'm shooting on parking decks ... shapes and forms, light and shadow play, mood and atmosphere. Some images are minimalist; others representational; still others abstract. To see more in the series click Parking Deck Series
A variation of a previous posting - although it is still raining here, I must shoot something else...time for a trip to some music...
Top is completed. I want to keep it, but I would never have time to make something else, so it's all yours, partner! I hope you will like it!
Middleton Top Engine House houses a steam engine formerly used to haul trains up the 700-yard long 1-in-8 (12.5%) gradient of Middleton Incline.
I honestly can't believe I made this. Now I'm thinking about the fabric for the backing. I can't wait to quilt this thing!
The remains of the old ironstone roasting (aka calcining) kilns at Bank Top, Rosedale, on a murky moorland day.
These were built in the early 1860s to roast the very high grade ironstone extracted from the Low Works at Hollins, so burning off gases and some impurities and reducing it in weight to make transportation by rail to the smelting works at Ferryhill in Co Durham more economical.
A pair of climbers top out at South Stack, Anglesey. It seemed like nothing was going to come of the evening light with all the cloud cover. However, for about 30 seconds, this glow appeared through a small break. I grabbed the camera off the tripod and took this fleeting shot.
On a day out with Laura in the main gallery of the museum. This is truly an amazing building. The gallery is all iron beams and glass roof, producing a beautiful light for photos and, of course, a wonderful place to meet.

Masked Lapwing
Vanellus miles
Charadriidae
The Masked Lapwing is sometimes referred to as the Spur-winged Plover because each of its wings is armed with a yellow spur at the ‘elbow’ (or carpal joint) — Indigenous people used to say that the birds were carrying yellow spears. Lapwings use these spurs when diving at potential predators or intruders during breeding season, while chicks are running around or when the eggs are just about to hatch. While these attacks are quite unnerving, the birds seldom actually strike their ‘victims’, preferring a close approach to scare them away.
Coup de chance d'arriver à faire cette photo en plein contre jour sans avoir pu préparer quoi que ce soit en réglages.
the fluffy surface of the top of the cyclist creates an interesting surrealistic “glowing outline” which makes it look like the effect of the darksaber from mandalorian
side comment: no local edditing to make the effect more strong etc
#Hands On In the old days, the top hand on the bat decided who would bat 1st. Umpires added for effect and were not compensated but were thanked profusely. Can you guess who won?
