Took a walk through fields that were local to me and spotted this old rusted farming tool. I have no idea what it is, so if anyone can enlighten the flickrnauts and me I'd be glad to here about it.
Update: I have been told by my Uncle David, that this device was for removing large stones from the fields.

I love this kind of a simple composition with some static objects.
The other day, I found some tools left by somebody and I got interested in them, so on the spot, I took a photo of them. So surreal !!!
These are actually my neighbors. She had 5 boys and her tools she kept for herself to fix things around the house kept disappearing, so her husband bought her these, and she never had trouble again!
Trip to the Mercer Museum, Feb 2008. The museum, completed in 1916, houses the collection of archeologist Henry Chapman Mercer. Mercer knew that certain technologies (for example, candle making, horn carving and whaling) would disappear, and wished to archive samples of their work and the tools used to create them while they were still available.
It's an eclectic hodge-podge, but is a fascinating visit. The building itself is notable, as one of the first large-scale uses of rebar-reinforced concrete in the world. Strongly recommend a visit if you happen to find yourself near Doylestown, PA.
