Tooled leather bangles. Different texttures give these a really fun look.

The Learning Studio hosted a workshop organized by Michael Swaine and Amy Franceschini, in which 12 local artists were invited to make tools that expand our natural perceptual limitations.

So. I recently started going to a dentist near my apartment. He told me that the took over the practice from the dentist who had been there previously - thus meaning - the office has been there a long time. So imagine my slight discomfort when these tools were the first thing I saw upon sitting down in the chair.

I think? He doesn't use these on anyone. All the tools for my visit came from a more modern package of sterilized tools.

These older looking tools seem to be a throwback from another time.

A tool roll with three pouches. Constructed from 94.5% reclaimed material. The only new content is the velcro, binding tape, and stitching.

Designed to roll up small, while also being able to expand depending on your tool kit size.

My favourite tools for this job.

“Rear Impact” is a performance that deals with human latitude for action when the machine isn’t the tool of the human being but rather the human being the instrument of the machine. The flowing movement of a head-on collision between a car and a motorcycle driven the performer comes across as a series of snapshots.

All the lights on to give a sense of size of the venue. I am consistently amazed by the night algorithm of the K750i - this photo was taken with my phone!

In 1949 Plomb was required to change the brand name marked on their tools, and chose "PROTO" (from "PROfessional TOols") as the new name. In 1949 Plomb started marking tools with the "PROTO" mark, and by 1950 the Plomb name had disappeared from its tools. The "PROTO LOS ANGELES" mark was used to 1956.
