"Hunting Bow and Arrows"
"Depending on its size and the kind of point used, arrows are effective for killing animals as large as deer, bear, and bison, or as small as turkeys, raccoons and beaver.
This bow is carved from crabapple wood with a string made of hand-twisted cordage. the arrow on the left has a stone point and radial fletching the feathers point away from the arrow shaft. The arrow on the right has a point made of a Garfish scale and tangential fletching the feathers lie alongside the arrow shaft."
"Cottontail Rabbit"
"Rabbits are common to Carolina Piedmont fields and woodlands. Although preyed upon by many animals for food, people hunt them for their meat and their fur which makes a soft, warm lining for clothing and shoes."
"Blow Gun and Dart"
"Made from hollowed stalk of river cane, a blow gun is used for killing small game like squirrels, rabbits and birds. The sharp wooden darts are fletched with thistle down, cattail down, light fur or feathers to help them fly straight. The darts are blown forcefully from the gun at the prey. Qulvers for carrying the darts are crafted from bark, cane or, like this one, a gourd."
"Gourd Water Jug"
"Large whole gourds work well for collecting and carrying water from a nearby spring or creek to the home or to water crops in the garden. A hole cut in the neck serves as a handle and spout."

The shot glass. Maybe TMI - but maybe something that is shared. The tool of the first week back for teachers and administrators - making it work and staying cool and calm. All within respectable limits. -)
I finally finished my tool cabinet. It's my first project *mostly* done with handtools. It's not perfect, but I learned several lessons, so that makes it all okay.
One bracket was still quite secure from the epoxy Winnie used 10 years ago.
If you decide (as I did) to remove the good but rusty brackets, be careful! I used a cloth to protect the van from being scratched and laid a 2 by 4 against the bracket. A sturdy hammer to the opposite end finally broke the bracket loose. I used a Dremmel tool to grind out the old rivets. The epoxy may be a challenge too!
Seriously, at Williams Sonoma they are selling a dremel tool for carving pumpkins. No, we didn't buy one. We already have a dremel, though I doubt either of us would be willing to use it on a pumpkin.
The middle school my daughter attends just put together a wood shop. This is the wall of hand tools there.
The rear of this Ransomes & Rapier Ltd Steam Crane seems to be rather a "tool" shelf... there's all kinds of stuff there, fire rakes, pokers, bits of tubing for "helping" spanners, a couple of industrial sized spanners and some other cast iron parts.
This is a Bosch GSB 14,2-2-LI cordless drill from their 'Professional' range.
Which is just as well as I loathe using cheap or inferior tools.

The Li-Ion battery recharges very quickly and doesn't suffer from the same memory effect as Ni-Cad batteries. The chuck is an Auto Lock type, meaning the drill spindle is automatically locked when the tool is at standstill, then you turn the chuck with one hand to lock and unlock - no two handed 'chinese burn' actions needed with this drill!

The drill is sitting on a high visibility orange tough PVC bag made by ICF Grimsby. Originally designed for carrying newspapers in, but makes a ideal bag for carrying tools and equipment in.
