I tried something a little different tonight and didn't go to my normal sunset locations. I have scoped this field out and tonight was the night to give it a try.
Beans, red sauce, and pasta. Details: Tongues of Fire beans from Kalustyan’s, marinara by Michael’s of Brooklyn, orichiette from Piemonte Ravioli on Grand Street in Manhattan’s Little Italy
Tonight's sunset along the south coast was simply AMAZING! Pinks and reds filled the sky and I was down at my local river bank watching the awesome display. Sadly due to bad planning on my part, I realised I couldn't get down into the section of river which I had my heart set on. Instead I stood there and watched the brilliant end to the day and shot down at the river without any of the sky in the frame. For what I thought was going terribly wrong I realised that the flowing water was picking up the colour nicely. Sometimes you just have to go with the flow....
The moon will be full tomorrow night, if it's clear enough I will take another photo of it. I read there is an eclipse, so will attempt this also in the morning. I can't get over how bright it was!

Tonight's marathon session in a tunnel with a camera rotation tool, two tripods, a flashgun and a willing victim.
All shot in one photographic exposure with a burst of light from a LED Lenser P7QC. A touch of levels has been applied to bring down the blue tones a smidge.

It has been awhile (Oct 2023) but here is a sunset shot from last night at The Bend Area.
I have not shot a sunset in a long time....way too long. But everyone's sunset photos from around my area have been so go and I have not been able to get out a enjoy them until last night.
My son stopped by, and we walked over to the beach--always a wonderful place to go... :)
The sun actually had an orange glow above it, but I was surprised that it came out. Also liked the way the sun came out with a yellow ring around it :)
I straightened it a bit, but it's not cropped, and no further adjustment.
