Yesterday for the first time since my retirement I made halva with semolina, Greeks do this during lent.

With our drought, some of the prairie grass got toasted as you can see here. Some of the other prairie plants are deeply rooted and drought resistant, so I am still hopefull for our normal September goldenrod and sunflower show.
MM 2nd.The best toast I ever had was when I was young and at my grandparents house.They had an open fire and we would toast bread or crumpets on toasting forks.I don't have an open fire but when I took this photo it just reminded me of those times.For the set up I place a second flash behind another slice of bread which gave it the warm look.
My youngest with French Toast. I'm testing out the little 50mm Nikkor-HC F2.0 LTM, I picked up cheap for indoor portraits. I like it a lot so far. I wonder if the slight cleaning marks/coating damage on the front element are giving the image a glow that I wasn't expecting. Either way, well worth the $50 I spent. Leotax T2 with Kentmere 100 devved in that old standby D76... and I do mean old. This batch came from a sealed metal can from the 80s. Scanned with a D-SLR on a Marron Carrel scan rig using a Tominon 75mm process lens, macro bellows, and an Omega color head as a light source. Post production with Darktable.

Macro Monday's and the theme of "Bread and Topping".
This is my lunch for today, partly inspired by the theme for this Monday but I do like Beans on Toast for lunch.
Today I decided to add some grated Cheese. Other days I may add some Jalapenos.
………Lip smacking, Nose twitching Toasted Spelt bread - a little well done especially for the photo shoot (honest), I have this for tea every day along with homemade vegetable soup. Always smells delicious so perfect for Macro Monday’s theme of “Smell” and looking deliciously like the two pieces are kissing! HMM, Alan:-)…….

Goes together like toast and jam. I always enjoy toast and strawberry jam with a cup of tea in the morning.
at 9 past 9 on monday the 9th. i made myself a toast for breakfast. with 9 stripes and nine dots of curry ketchup, i added a nine shaped splash for good measure. bon apetit.
