National Rhododendron Gardens, Olinda. I had gone specifically to this garden to search for toadstools, and as I had been unlucky in the past I was determined this time to find one. I had almost given up when this perfect little toadstool caught my eye. It was standing tall and proud, alone, underneath a pine tree. It was the only one I found that day.
These garden ornaments make a tinkling sound on windy days as the tops move against the stems. They are surrounded by forget-me-not plants, which will be covered in pale blue flowers when the weather is warmer.
A few from yesterdays jaunt out to Alderley Edge to try and find some interesting Fungi. I was hoping for some of the classic red and white numbers but they sadly elude me for now! These were all pretty small and all shot with the 100mm macro.

Manly dam is still wet from recent rains, encouraging the growth of toadstools, especially where the last control burn took place.

It took ages to find this toadstool, I’d found a few broken ones but no whole ones. The woods were really dry too, even though it had rained a lot the night before I think the long dry summer has left the whole area bone dry. Still, this one jumped out at me so I tried my Panasonic 14mm wide open at f2.5 for this shot. Oh and it needed a little light so I lay my torch in the twigs a couple of feet away to shine underneath. P
