It's been a week since I returned from the Southwest and I've added a handful of new images to my website. It was such an amazing trip with loads of otherworldly scenery that truly inspired me. The creative juices were flowing at full volume, making it all the harder to leave the place. This particular image was taken during brilliant late afternoon light just as a thunderstorm broke apart, creating this ethereal glow over these toadstools in the Escalante area. This is yet another place of erosion miracles. It is between Page and Kanab and is referred to as the Paria Toadstools. Easy, short hike and a beautiful sky that day.

In the future, cameras' dynamic range should approach that of the human eyes and still look natural. In the meantime, I'm experimenting with blending multiple exposures. This one is a composite of two photos, one for the sky and the other for the ground.
I had seen these garden ornaments a while ago & eventually went to buy one. After more than a week changing my mind about where to put it, I finally “planted” it today while trying to miss the rain showers. It’s a group of 7 metal toadstools, though one of them is hidden in the photo.
E found a few of these growing in the lawn today - I wish I knew more about them as I have to go for the don't touch it might be poisonous line just in case.
She's been a star today - she's been to both of her nurseries and didn't cry at either. She had lots of fun at the one she's been to before and has made some new friends. She's got a full session at the new one tomorrow so we'll have to be up and out early, that is if she ever decides to go to sleep.
Once again I am block in by the pond after what seems like months of rains.
I walk around the yard trying to find something, anything but everything seem so boring and mundane all that caught my eyes was this fungus, is it edible or poisonous?

After an usually long hot dry summer in Scotland the mosses, lichens and ferns are all springing back into life and now that it is autumn there are bewildering varieties of toadstools popping up throughout the woods.
