Cepaea nemoralis (brown lipped snail) in a large variety of colours. A used snail lot - all one careful owner. Found in the Pulpit hill area, Buckinghamshire.
South Denes Great Yarmouth. The South Denes area of Great Yarmouth was until the early 2oth Century where Great Yarmouth Races were held. South Denes was home to a World War One airfield used by the Royal Naval Air Service and from 1918 the Royal Air Force. After the war the airfield was used for commercial flights until the 1930s. Later in the 20th Century it was where South Denes Caravan Camp was. South Denes is also where the fish finger was developed at the Birdseye Factory.

It was sad, and almost unbelievable, how many gorgeous buildings, even in really nice parts of Dublin, were for rent or for sale.
Many consider Gandy Street to be one of the most charming, and interesting streets in Exeter. Lined with bijou gift shops, bistros and restaurants, it is an essential stop for those visiting Exeter.

Cornhill Hotel, 377-379 Promenade, Blackpool, England. While this hotel was closed when I took this, they apparently underwent refurbishing and have reopened.
Srinagar, Dal Lake
We travelled by bus and train from Kabul - passing Peshawar, Lahore, Amritsar, Pathankot - to Srinagar. We left Kabul on Juy 2 and arrived in Srinagar three days later, July 5.
The night from July 2/3 we were sleeping on the train. The night from 3/4 was spend in Tourist Hotel Panthankot.
July 4, Friday, we took the bus from Pathankot to Jammu, where we bivacked on the floor of the office of Aryan, an Indian we met on the bus. In the evening we had our first experience of Indian movies.
July 5, Saturday, arrival in Srinagar, Hotel International.
In the afternoon we rented a houseboat for 17,5 RP, with breakfast. and TOLET, Dandoo Palace.
The bus ride from Jammu to Srinagar went through the mountains. Along the road were texts like:

The Victoria pub in Clitheroe has been closed since December 2011 after the licence was revoked by Ribble Valley Borough Council following complaints of under age drinking. It was subsequently sold but still appears to be boarded up and is being marketed for rent. It had been thought that Wetherspoons may have bought the property but they have denied this and have stated that they are still looking for new premises in Clitheroe.

No demand for small units with so many empty shops around.

Adding to the list of failed businesses in Preston is the well regarded but ultimately unsuccessful restaurant The Steakout.
Located on Cannon Street, one of the 'hidden gems' of the city The Steakout boasted the finest Steaks in the North West plus an excellent menu that featured Cuban Beef, Greek Kota Burgers, Soft Shell Crab amongst other exquisite dishes. It was something novel and exciting for Preston's jaded pallets.
Sadly, no longer inviting customers. The 'To Let' signs are up even though fully laid tables can be seen through the windows.
A sad loss, and what's even sader, it maybe not the last one in this street of lovely little independents. The only way these places will keep trading is if we spend our money there. So if you have not had a look down Cannon Street yet, go and visit tomorrow, or this weekend. you may be pleasantly surprised.
The closure was sudden the street ad board was still advertsing the lunchtime menu
I was in one of Camden council's offices. Also this is the depot for all the street cleaning vehicles. The coachworks (with the initials obscured as this picture was in GWUK) is J T Coachworks.

Flexi produce a range of products for pets - especially extending leads.
The flexi window logo is the only clue to what the shop was before it closed. It is totally empty.
Heading along Eastgate Street in Stafford. I went from Market Street towards North Walls (with a brief look up Martin Street).
A pub called Lord Nelson at 31 Eastgate Street.
The pub is to let by Fleurets. It was Nelsons at the Lord Nelson. Pool Room. Music Bar. Also known as The Lord Nelson Vaults.
