Avanzan Borregos a la final nacional de conadeip en beisbol derrotan a Gallos del CEU en dos juegos
Con base en un sólido pitcheo y en un bateo oportuno, los Borregos del Tecnológico de Monterrey Campus Puebla se impusieron en la serie a ganar dos de tres juegos a los Gallos del Centro de Estudios Universitarios de Monterrey, dentro de la semifinal por la Comisión Nacional Deportiva Estudiantil de Instituciones Privadas (CONADEIP).
Los Borregos aprovecharon su situación de locales para no complicarse las cosas al ganar los dos juegos de manera consecutiva y no dar pie a un tercero que pudiera cambiar el curso del destino.
El manager Alejandro Esquivel Peña colocó en el primer juego de la serie en la “lomita” al lanzador zurdo José Luis Villalobos, quien respondió a la confianza depositada en él, al lanzar durante toda la ruta y conseguir ponchar a 11 enemigos, además de aceptar solamente dos hits, para llevar a los Borregos a una victoria por blanqueada de 2 carreras a 0.
Cabe señalar que las carreras de los “lanudos” en ese juego fueron con un par de cuadrangulares conectados por el cuarto tolete Daniel Cornejo en la cuarta entrada, con un descomunal batazo por el jardín izquierdo; el segundo palo de vuelta entera fue obra del quinto en el orden Eduardo Arroyo, el cual se fue de línea por el jardín central, el cual es el primero que se conecta por esa zona en el campo de los Borregos.
Para el segundo choque por los locales hizo su aparición el pitcher zurdo Reveriano Pérez, quien los encaminarlos a su segunda victoria de la doble cartelera.
Pérez con su experiencia logró maniatar los “bates” de los Gallos hasta la sexta entrada, luego de que la ofensiva de los Borregos le había dado una ventaja de tres carreras; en ese “inning” la novena regiomontana respondió al anotar dos carreras y cerca se quedaron de empatar el juego; fue cuando el relevista Roberto González apareció en el montículo para apretar “las tuercas” y no dar más oportunidad a los visitantes para cerrar la pizarra final de 3 por 2.
Con las victorias los Borregos del Campus Puebla se instalaron en la serie para disputar el campeonato de la Conferencia Nacional de Beisbol de la CONADEIP, razón por la que el manager Alejandro Esquivel se mostró contento y orgulloso por el trabajo de sus muchachos.
“Fueron unos partidos muy complicados, muy cerrados, ya los esperábamos así, afortunadamente los ganamos y ya estamos en la final; el desempeño fue bueno y el resultado ahí está, apretados los juegos pero estamos en la final”.
Ahora los Borregos del Campus Puebla se alistan para recibir en fecha por definir a sus “hermanos” del Campus Monterrey, quienes como locales despacharon también en dos juegos a los Leones de la Universidad Anáhuac Campus México Norte.
“Esperamos a unos rivales igual o más complicados que los que acabamos de enfrentar, porque a final de cuentas ya será el campeonato el que está en juego y es el actual campeón, vamos a ver como se dan los partidos pero tengo confianza en que salgamos adelante también en esa serie”.
Será la segunda vez que ambas escuadras se encuentren en la final; la anterior ocasión se dio en el 2012 en Chihuahua, con victoria para los regiomontanos; además será la tercera ocasión de manera consecutiva en que los Borregos del Campus Puebla se metan a la final, sin conseguir el trofeo que los avale como campeones, por lo que lucharán fuerte para conseguir el ansiado título.

The only building I know of to be named after the scandal of its own construction.
More than a year after it became available, this huge, obviously-expensive office building at the east end of Princes Street remains glaringly empty.
Sometimes they light up the inside at night, so that it glows blue like some poorly-disguised alien mothership.
Kodak Express...another shot from my streets of Bournemouth set... it's a sign of the times that most high street photography shops have now closed down, this one was no exception. I'm also adding this to my "changing face of Britain's High Street set".

Manufactory, formerly a pair of dwellings with rear workshop ranges. Early C19.
MATERIALS: Red brick with bracketed eaves to a hipped slate roof and plain band corniced chimneys.
PLAN: Rectangular plan comprising a pair of former dwellings with workshop ranges extending to the rear.
EXTERIOR: Near-symmetrical three-storeyed frontage of four bays onto Caroline Street. The fenestration consists of revealed sash windows, some of which retain their glazing bars. The ground and first floor window openings have painted stone sills and reeded lintels flanked by shallow consoles to thin cornices over. The entrance is sited in the second bay from the left. The door case has engaged, slender, fluted Greek Doric columns which support an entablature and open bracketed pediment. There are plain reveals to the round-headed doorway and a six-panel door with a plain fanlight. A panel above the first floor windows reads `PICKERING & MAYELL LTD / RELIANCE WORKS'. The north return (Kenyon Street) of the attached workshop ranges which extend from the rear of both houses retain some original wooden-framed multi-pane windows.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: To the front (west) are cast-iron railings with crescent heads of distinctive Birmingham type.
HISTORY: The area around St Paul's Square to the north west of the city centre was developed as a residential and industrial zone from the 1820s and was eventually to become the Jewellery Quarter. The jewellery-case-making works of Pickering and Mayell Ltd, known as Reliance Works, was built in around 1826, originally as a pair of houses (Nos.41-42) with rear workshops. Early occupants included the noted Birmingham silversmiths George Unite and Nathaniel Mills. The company of Pickering and Mayell has occupied the premises since circa 1900.

REASON FOR DESIGNATION: 42 Caroline Street is designated at Grade II for the following principal reasons:
* Early-C19 dwellings with rear workshops that retains the distinctive architectural and plan form characteristics of a jewellery-manufactory building
* Strong group value with other listed jewellery manufactory buildings
* It exemplifies the early pattern of development of a manufacturing district of Birmingham now considered to be of international significance

The sad thing about losing the Woolworth's brand is its history. It started out providing good quality goods at fair "pocket money" prices.
Ironically, the outdoor market is still flourishing immediately outside of the huge old empty Woolies store.

Saw this old bank in Menai Bridge on my previous stay / visit in the town, but didn't get around to getting a shot of it.
Made sure to get one on my second stay!
It was last used as a NatWest at Uxbridge Square. But I think the bank is now vacant / empty.

Anuncia Gobernador aumento salarial y prestaciones a Policías y sus familias.
Hermosillo, Sonora; Septiembre 1 de 2010.- En reconocimiento al esfuerzo y dedicación de los policías estatales y como parte de la estrategia contra el crimen organizado en Sonora, el Gobernador Guillermo Padrés anunció incrementos sustanciales en el sueldo y prestaciones para ellos y sus familias, así como dotación de equipo y una nueva flota vehicular.
Incentivos de hasta 25 mil pesos por desempeño; estímulos por participar en operativos de alto riesgo, entre otros, además de la entrega de 65 vehículos y armamento por más de 24 millones de pesos, atención personalizada en los servicios de salud para sus familiares, forman parte de esta nueva estrategia de seguridad del Gobierno del Estado.
Durante la entrega histórica de vehículos y armamento especial que incluye el equipo antimotín, el Ejecutivo destacó el reforzamiento de policías en el estado para hacer frente a la inseguridad.
El mandatario estatal reconoció la valentía y riesgo al que se enfrentan los elementos y acompañado por el Secretario de Seguridad Pública, Ernesto Munro Palacio y el Procurador de Justicia del Estado, Abel Murrieta Gutiérrez, afirmó que este anuncio se debe a un estudio estratégico que conlleve a mejorar los números que se tienen en Sonora en el combate al crimen organizado.
El Gobernador Padrés confió que en con este reforzamiento de equipo y mejoramiento de las condiciones económicas, el Gobierno de Sonora y sus elementos policiacos entren en una etapa de compromiso, para garantizar la seguridad de los sonorenses y dignificación de su profesión.
Exige lealtad a Policías
Durante su intervención dijo que también en reciprocidad exige lealtad a México y al Estado por parte de los policías, pues los tiempos de ignorar situaciones que suceden y dejar el camino libre a la delincuencia ya quedó atrás.
“En ese ánimo esperamos que sea recíproca, exigimos lealtad, compromiso, resultados, que los tiempos de “hacernos de la vista gorda” ya pasaron, que los tiempos de llegar a acuerdos con “el lado oscuro de la sociedad” deben de pasar, porque no va haber nadie que los trate mejor que los ciudadanos, que el gobierno mismo, para que exista esta correlación de que ustedes nos protejan, pero que también el estado los proteja a ustedes”, subrayó.

El Gobernador Padrés anunció que en el aspecto económico, se hizo una renivelación y aquellos elementos de nivel 3 con sueldo de 6,320 pesos mensuales, subirán al nivel 7, percibiendo un ingreso de 11,323 pesos.
Los jefes de grupo, continuó, de nivel 6 pasarán al nivel 9, incrementando su sueldo base de 9,781 pesos a 14,760 pesos de percepción mensual.
Además anunció que los policías estatales y los jefes de grupo recibirán estímulos adicionales, entre los 3 mil y 4,500 pesos respectivamente, por estar encomendados en operativos de alto riesgo.
Otra percepción económica de que disfrutarán los policías del estado, es el estímulo al desempeño, haciéndose acreedores a un apoyo económico de entre cinco mil a 25 mil pesos al mes, por acciones realizadas.
Aunado a esto, el Gobernador Padrés agregó, que en acuerdos con el ISSSTESON; se creará un enlace de vinculación con la Secretaría de Seguridad Pública, que sea un apoyo en las gestiones administrativas y en la atención de los servicios médicos en los hospitales y unidades médicas de todo el estado.
Más equipados.
Para garantizarles mejores condiciones en el cuidado de todos los sonorenses el Gobernador Padrés, entregó vehículos, armamento y equipo de seguridad, con valor de 24 millones 108 mil 851 pesos.
Las Policías Estatales serán reforzadas con 63 unidades tipo pick up, equipadas con radio, torretas y sirenas.
Ametralladoras, carabinas, lanza granadas, cartuchos, granadas, esposas, toletes, escudos, cascos y chalecos antimotines, abre puertas, espinilleras, forman parte de esta inversión histórica, para el mejoramiento de las corporaciones policiacas de la entidad.
El Procurador General de Justicia del Estado, Abel Murrieta Gutiérrez, destacó esta inversión y señaló que con la modernidad del equipamiento, los policías de sonora tendrán armamento con calibre similar al que utiliza el crimen organizado.
Destacó la labor realizada por los elementos policiacos, que con los recursos que cuentan, han combatido la delincuencia con buenos resultados y resaltó que con este apoyo inédito, se mejorará el desempeño de todas las corporaciones estatales.

Anuncia Gobernador aumento salarial y prestaciones a Policías y sus familias.
Hermosillo, Sonora; Septiembre 1 de 2010.- En reconocimiento al esfuerzo y dedicación de los policías estatales y como parte de la estrategia contra el crimen organizado en Sonora, el Gobernador Guillermo Padrés anunció incrementos sustanciales en el sueldo y prestaciones para ellos y sus familias, así como dotación de equipo y una nueva flota vehicular.
Incentivos de hasta 25 mil pesos por desempeño; estímulos por participar en operativos de alto riesgo, entre otros, además de la entrega de 65 vehículos y armamento por más de 24 millones de pesos, atención personalizada en los servicios de salud para sus familiares, forman parte de esta nueva estrategia de seguridad del Gobierno del Estado.
Durante la entrega histórica de vehículos y armamento especial que incluye el equipo antimotín, el Ejecutivo destacó el reforzamiento de policías en el estado para hacer frente a la inseguridad.
El mandatario estatal reconoció la valentía y riesgo al que se enfrentan los elementos y acompañado por el Secretario de Seguridad Pública, Ernesto Munro Palacio y el Procurador de Justicia del Estado, Abel Murrieta Gutiérrez, afirmó que este anuncio se debe a un estudio estratégico que conlleve a mejorar los números que se tienen en Sonora en el combate al crimen organizado.
El Gobernador Padrés confió que en con este reforzamiento de equipo y mejoramiento de las condiciones económicas, el Gobierno de Sonora y sus elementos policiacos entren en una etapa de compromiso, para garantizar la seguridad de los sonorenses y dignificación de su profesión.
Exige lealtad a Policías
Durante su intervención dijo que también en reciprocidad exige lealtad a México y al Estado por parte de los policías, pues los tiempos de ignorar situaciones que suceden y dejar el camino libre a la delincuencia ya quedó atrás.
“En ese ánimo esperamos que sea recíproca, exigimos lealtad, compromiso, resultados, que los tiempos de “hacernos de la vista gorda” ya pasaron, que los tiempos de llegar a acuerdos con “el lado oscuro de la sociedad” deben de pasar, porque no va haber nadie que los trate mejor que los ciudadanos, que el gobierno mismo, para que exista esta correlación de que ustedes nos protejan, pero que también el estado los proteja a ustedes”, subrayó.

El Gobernador Padrés anunció que en el aspecto económico, se hizo una renivelación y aquellos elementos de nivel 3 con sueldo de 6,320 pesos mensuales, subirán al nivel 7, percibiendo un ingreso de 11,323 pesos.
Los jefes de grupo, continuó, de nivel 6 pasarán al nivel 9, incrementando su sueldo base de 9,781 pesos a 14,760 pesos de percepción mensual.
Además anunció que los policías estatales y los jefes de grupo recibirán estímulos adicionales, entre los 3 mil y 4,500 pesos respectivamente, por estar encomendados en operativos de alto riesgo.
Otra percepción económica de que disfrutarán los policías del estado, es el estímulo al desempeño, haciéndose acreedores a un apoyo económico de entre cinco mil a 25 mil pesos al mes, por acciones realizadas.
Aunado a esto, el Gobernador Padrés agregó, que en acuerdos con el ISSSTESON; se creará un enlace de vinculación con la Secretaría de Seguridad Pública, que sea un apoyo en las gestiones administrativas y en la atención de los servicios médicos en los hospitales y unidades médicas de todo el estado.
Más equipados.
Para garantizarles mejores condiciones en el cuidado de todos los sonorenses el Gobernador Padrés, entregó vehículos, armamento y equipo de seguridad, con valor de 24 millones 108 mil 851 pesos.
Las Policías Estatales serán reforzadas con 63 unidades tipo pick up, equipadas con radio, torretas y sirenas.
Ametralladoras, carabinas, lanza granadas, cartuchos, granadas, esposas, toletes, escudos, cascos y chalecos antimotines, abre puertas, espinilleras, forman parte de esta inversión histórica, para el mejoramiento de las corporaciones policiacas de la entidad.
El Procurador General de Justicia del Estado, Abel Murrieta Gutiérrez, destacó esta inversión y señaló que con la modernidad del equipamiento, los policías de sonora tendrán armamento con calibre similar al que utiliza el crimen organizado.
Destacó la labor realizada por los elementos policiacos, que con los recursos que cuentan, han combatido la delincuencia con buenos resultados y resaltó que con este apoyo inédito, se mejorará el desempeño de todas las corporaciones estatales.
