I was given a blank black canvas made from string and tissue paper to alter, so used glimmer mist and accent beads decorated with the moulds
I just might have something interesting+different to show at this year's Maker Faire NYC beyond the usual 3D printed stuff!
This is the wooden codfish that I am decorating for the Marblehead Arts Festival as it looked on Friday. Although there were still decisions left to make about the details project, I was ready to get started. I drew in lines for the body of the fish, and then started cutting and pasting strips of silver tissue paper. This doesn't look like much yet (or if anything, it looks like duct tape!), but the silver paper does reflects the light. And I know from my trial runs that the markings in bright colors and the gold accents will make a difference.

Creating a story led by the little ones, we can scrunch, rip, tear and shred our tissue paper into animals, people and whatever they imagine!
With specially composed music, this is a highly imaginative journey of play devised from DNA puppetry successful international show ‘Atishoo!’

This painting has been taking shape quickly. It is a little larger than A3 stretched canvas. I wasn't able to sew directly onto the canvas as it's a deep edge and it wouldn't fit under the sewing machine foot. Instead I stitched through paper/tissue paper and then applied these to the canvas. I only some elements tonight... I wonder whether the creature near her legs constitutes a pet?
Lesson: don't leave a piece of pottery carefully wrapped in two colors of tissue paper, in the cupboard, within reach of an enterprising kitty-cat.
