Timing belt installation using vice grips to keep the belt in place while slipping it around the crankshaft spriocket
This past Friday in weapons class we tried to really focus on Focus Timing and precision. This one series seems to capture each of these ideas.
Unfortunately, people stayed seated for 2/3 of the show, meaning I couldn't use my height to my advantage. I ended up taking several shots by timing shots between movements of the couple in front of me.

More spray bottle abuse this time on a raspberry bush. I had the flash on for this shot but the batteries must have been getting low so it didn't actually fire. The result was that it made the background go black and left all the lighting on the drop to the sun.
Possibly still a little bit dark for my taste but I thought I'd see what you all thought!
Route Planning
It's about time we got down to finding out about flights. Now that we more or less know our route, and some of the timings, I decided I should ring a few travel agents as our needs were too complicated to do it online.
Boy, is it time-consuming!
Dial-a-Flight were fabulous, answering the phone on the first ring and taking time to talk to me about our choices and options.
Trailfinders took all our details and then both posted me the details and made them available online. The lovely Debbie who took my call gave me lots of advice about Hawaii.
Austravel have just a few itineraries into which to try to force individual requirements. That's something I didn't realise before I rang.
A company in Brighton (Hove ekchewly), Travel Nation, were very helpful.
It's helped me clarify what and when and where we want. I need to chat with Rik then make a booking next week. Once the flights are booked I'll book the shippers (after deciding which one to use).
A year ago today I was tired.

A teenage driver is tired of close calls at a frustrating intersection that is getting some attention from the city of Dunwoody.
Every day,16-year-old Lizzy Haas confronts impatient drivers on her way from home to school. A simple turn onto Peeler Road in Dunwoody is never that simple.
"A MARTA bus pulled in front of me," said Haas. "I almost got rammed into the side."
Close calls are not unusual at the intersection of North Peachtree and Peeler. Traffic jams on North Peachtree, making it difficult for drivers to make a left from Peeler.
More than oncem Haas has hit her brakes to avoid drivers turning in front of her.
"People just want to try to go the second they find a spot," said Haas. "It may not really be safe."
11Alive's Commuter Dude turned to the city of Dunwoody, and found that there is a plan to add turn lanes and a traffic light that should go a long way toward eliminating those close calls.
Jerry Carnes pressed the city, and found the light will be synced with the one nearby at North Peachtree and Tilly Mill.
"They'll be connected so they can communicate with each other and keep the timing in sync," said Dunwoody Public Works Director Michael Smith.
The changes will begin this summer.
Timing was perfect - we passed through Duka Bovu on a Wednesday, as the last day of our Safari. This meant there was a Masai market going on. We stopped and checked it out.
It was like a surreal blend of various country markets, flea markets and the farmers' markets I've seen in Peru and Ecuador.
