What timing! Got up early the first morning of our visit and was amazed at the snow cover. Checked out a couple of spots but really liked the areas above and below the "Court". This is Mount Moroni peering out through the clouds and fresh snow.
My timing has been off every time I go out to Thor’s Well. Usually the tide is too low but Sunday it was the opposite.
I thought hitting the coast at high tide would be perfect, but with recent storms and the atmospheric river that just pounded us it was way too high and I couldn’t get close enough for a decent picture. While I was waiting for the tide to go down I headed over to Devil’s Churn. I have no idea what’s going on here. The water was thick like I’ve never seen it and it stuck to the rocks like melting wax. And as luck would have it, three hours later Thor’s Well was still inaccessible.
Just like with everything, there is a right balance on the water levels in a waterfall. Looking at several seasonal conditions, I like the May, June months in Iguazu Falls. It is at the end of the rainy season, but there is still enough water for seeing the impressive flow of the waterfalls. Yet, there is still some sections with just enough water to create completely different, soothing experience.
This year, things are a little bit different (out of balance). Recent rains caused flooding and this section of the waterfalls is almost covered by the rising Iguazu river (about 60 yards/meters). Last time this happened was about 25 years ago..

Very tough to capture the austere grandeur of mountain scenery on cam they always seem smaller than in person. I think I managed it here.....or maybe not :)
Another shot from the Prescott Hill Climb, i had great fun trying to time the shots to catch the drivers illuminated in the dappled light. A lot of binned images to get the odd few that I liked

This picture has been made as a gratitude. It was taken last week in the island of Tinos. Tinos is the island I visit each year as a pilgrimage; it is a promise I made a long time ago..
I feel grateful and blessed for so many things in my life...
My gratitude also goes to this man who has been my teacher and mentor the last years. Radical life change is hard. Changing a lifetime of thoughts and patterns is also hard. However, Wayne Dyer has helped me change the way I looked at things and now the things I look at, change.
Life has always taught me this: IF you are willing to change, IF you are willing to listen, IF you are willing to accept, YOU CAN! Wayne Dyer confirms it to me every time I apply any of his quotes.
Sadly he passed away last August and I've been thinking........now that things are getting really bad around, why now? Now that humanity needs people like him most...And then I had the answer in front of me: the legacy he left is huge...anyone, ANYONE willing to make a change CAN just listen to him on Youtube, read his books and meditate.
When things are getting well there is no point...Timing is right and as he always said: " There is no such thing as luck or accidents in this purposeful universe. Not only is everything connected to everything else, but no one is excluded from the universal Source called intention. And genius, since it’s a characteristic of the universal Source, must be universal, which means that it’s in no way restricted. It’s available to every single human being. It certainly can and does show up differently in every single one of us " . This is the challenge and of course I shall take it. Will you?

While I was stuck in a cubicle for most of the day, the Iowa Pacific tooled around the Elgin Subdivision joyriding. Once freed from my corporate shackles, I returned home just as the Iowa Pacific was blasting off for Elgin again.
I casually stepped out onto the deck and nabbed a nice pan shot. Happy times at CP Mastadon.
Das Szenario ist ja weithin bekannt: Motiv und Licht passen, nur der Zug bleibt aus. Und just im Moment, da das Ganze für untauglich erklärt wurde, nähert sich der Zug. Doch von jeder Regel gibt es die Ausnahme: So kam einer der drei täglichen StH-Züge genau im richtigen Moment am Traunsee des Weges bevor die Schatten zu große Teile des Gleiskörpers bedeckt hatten - langsam aber sicher wächst eben auch dieser Klassiker zu.
It was perfect timing when the sun came out from behind the clouds, the breeze dropped and I was able to capture this shot of two leaves being lit up by the light. Also pretty good Timing that Flickr fixed whatever bug it had so that I could upload in time to make Flickr Friday! :)
Today was my first photography outing since returning from our trip in November! Due to PHD (post holiday depression) and dull weather I had no interest at all. So today we wrapped up warm and headed to RHS Wisley. I took over 180 shots, of which about 5 are any good, but it's a start!
This happy robin decided to hop into view just at the right moment!

Post sunrise at Cathedral Cove, in the Coromandel region of New Zealand. A beautiful location that was fun to shoot before the crowds arrived. :)

I always take a quick peek on the little screen after taking a picture...
And I didn't see the expression on their face at that moment....
But when I came home and see the shots on my pc, I was laughing out loud!
My doggies make me smile all the time...wooohooo!

Happy Furry Friday everyone!
I think getting one of the small birds in flight, in focus is all in the timing... and just plain luck of shutter control. In other words, it's flippin' hard! This is only the second time I've done it and I tried often in the last several winters.

Week 6 52:2014: Perfect Moment
Perfect weather conditions for rainbow formation are already pretty special but it is even more special when it happens when basic human rights of equality are still questioned.
For all those out there that aren't still free to be who they are, the rainbow power that has been crossing the world is for you.

Quonset State Airport Airshow 2015
My appreciation and thanks to all of you that have commented, awarded, and faved.
I had no plans to stop in Sharples after a day of shooting in east Central Alberta, but it looked like the sun might be in my favor as I approached the Sharples turnoff. I got there just int time to take advantage of this.
After sprinting from the Airport to Jersey Pike in 8 minutes, NS 26C comes around the curve with the Reading leading. After shooting CSX L806 with the Law Enforcement engine on the point not even 10 minutes earlier, that & this 26C is definitely one of the better back-to-back duos you could get. 8-30-22
