These seagulls hovered a couple of feet above the boat and took the treats ever so gently and a perfect day for the photo :)

Is a game I play, sometimes.

As Ansel Adams once said, “Sometimes I arrive just when God's ready to have someone click the shutter.”

As Landscape photographers we know that light and timing is everything, of course a little luck goes a long way as well. We were returning home from a place 5 hours away and I did my best to arrive at this spot just as the sun was setting.

It is easy to look up the time of the sunset so I did my best to get us here as close as possible. When we arrived I asked the family if I could stop for yes, just one more photo. They graciously complied and even went a step farther. We needed gas so they went to town in order to fill up giving us enough to get home. (Bless their Souls)

They returned with their treats (as I knew they would) and half an hour later I had a treat of my own. This is the best I have ever seen or photographed Rundle Mountain. She really gave us a light show that evening and I counted at least 7 other photographers who would have gone home with equally gorgeous results. Thanks team for giving this photographer the time needed for nature to do her part.

My mother calls these Indian cushions "The Maharaja's", well this mean orange thing sat on them and I wanted to take a shot for her but she posed like there is someone (or something) coming and she's going to run. Maybe it's the maharajah came to sit! :P

Unfortunately with this hobby, timing is everything and especially out west during the long summer months things can and will change very fast. 30 minutes after the empties went down to the mine the sun dipped below the summer monsoon only to light up bittersweet image at the Navajo Mine Railroad. Oh well, maybe the train will corporate next time... Aug 1, 2019

Timing

A few seconds was all I had to grab my cell phone to capture 630 in line with a left over puddle from the earlier rains. It ended up being my favorite photo of the night.

Just like with everything, there is a right balance on the water levels in a waterfall. Looking at several seasonal conditions, I like the May, June months in Iguazu Falls. It is at the end of the rainy season, but there is still enough water for seeing the impressive flow of the waterfalls. Yet, there is still some sections with just enough water to create completely different, soothing experience.

This year, things are a little bit different (out of balance). Recent rains caused flooding and this section of the waterfalls is almost covered by the rising Iguazu river (about 60 yards/meters). Last time this happened was about 25 years ago..

Totally wrong! My timing was off with the back of the buildings in shadow, it's not sharp throughout, and I should have used a slower shutter to soften the water. Even so, I wasn't quite ready to give up on the image so I pushed everything to the limit in Lightroom, which ended up in this "grunge" effect that despite the original flub, stuck with me.

The buildings are located in downtown Paris, Ontario and back onto the Grand River. Contrary to the way it looks here, the town was actually voted the "prettiest little town in Canada" by Harrowsmith Magazine.

As I was out with a friend Railfanning in the Evening, A Rather Strong Thunderstorm with some rotation going on above our heads, WAMX 1702 Sits at 25th street before shortly moving, about 25 minutes later, Strong Winds and Rain hit on downtown KC. But this didn't stop trains running (for the time being)

Another shot from the Prescott Hill Climb, i had great fun trying to time the shots to catch the drivers illuminated in the dappled light. A lot of binned images to get the odd few that I liked

What a lucky view tonight at Hawk Hill with low fog and moonstar :) Everything about in the right timing with such magic view during the twilight moment. Feels like in the heaven with you creative imagination

While I was stuck in a cubicle for most of the day, the Iowa Pacific tooled around the Elgin Subdivision joyriding. Once freed from my corporate shackles, I returned home just as the Iowa Pacific was blasting off for Elgin again.

I casually stepped out onto the deck and nabbed a nice pan shot. Happy times at CP Mastadon.

Former Santa Fe GP39-2 2846 leads the L-CHI105 west through Coal City, IL. Good timing here, as about ten minutes later a major downpour rolled in.

I think getting one of the small birds in flight, in focus is all in the timing... and just plain luck of shutter control. In other words, it's flippin' hard! This is only the second time I've done it and I tried often in the last several winters.

Post sunrise at Cathedral Cove, in the Coromandel region of New Zealand. A beautiful location that was fun to shoot before the crowds arrived. :)

I had no plans to stop in Sharples after a day of shooting in east Central Alberta, but it looked like the sun might be in my favor as I approached the Sharples turnoff. I got there just int time to take advantage of this.

Random early morning HP sauce photo opportunity by the River Thames.

Got super lucky with the timing on this one. Reminds me of an angel assuring me that everything is going to be okay.

When I was young my parents got us a C64. My favourite cassette was Bruce Lee. I loved that game so much, especially the sounds.

I tried putting some of the screen work, ladders and lanterns around the figures as part of the base, but it just detracted from the interaction between them IMO. Since this is supposed to go on my desk I wanted it to be reasonable simple in construction and able to be viewed from multiple sides.

The hardest call I had to make was the chin part on Bruce. Since it was based on an 8-bit 2D image I went with what looked best from a variety of angles. I could equally have justified making the chin pixel recessed but ultimately went with this one.

The base needs work, but until I get more white bricks (to put sideways) this will do.

As we approach Remembrance Day 2023, it's appropriate timing to upload this from 1996. BA often in past years applied special marks to one of their fleet to signify their support.

Timing is everything, as a young couple in love walk under the neon glow on a rainy Neapolitan street.

No evening out in the dark with a friend who happens to be a drone pilot would be complete without throwing an obligatory drone donut over the subject.

It's not easy to get the timing of the circle right but I did like the light cast by the drone on the ground.

No Photoshop, no AI, only two lunatics stood in a freezing field with cameras.

Some of the watches I found are looking like brandnew, altough the opposite is true. This is a Stopwatch, still more or less in working order. Nice mechanics...
