This is one of the various Timex Marlin models released in conjunction with the 70th anniversary of Charles M. Schulz's "Peanuts" cartoons - an icon of the mid 20th century- featuring the beloved comic book characters of Charlie Brown, Snoopy, etc.

As recently released novelty watches go, I'd definitely say this Marlin is a better value compared to the similarly priced MoonSwatch (bitter).

✅ Automatic (MoonSwatch is only quartz)

✅ quick release spring bars on the straps

✅ lume on hands (albeit faint)

✅ who doesn't love Peanuts

✅ much nicer feeling strap (made by the same company who makes leather for Red Wing shoes)

✅ the sunburst reflection was executed much better than the one MoonSwatch w/ a sunburst reflection (Mission to the Sun)

✅ much nicer box, fabric inside, with a printed comic strip vs flimsy cardboard

I'm not sure what it is. Maybe it's that I haven't really fit anyone's type so to speak. Maybe it's the fact that people tell me that I give off that younger brother vibe or that I would be a good uncle. Maybe it's because I'm a ubernerd. Who knows? This photo didn't come out as well as the others since I took it in a different location. But here you can see that the insides are very simplistic. You have the ULA (Uncommitted Logic Array, handles video output) on the left, the Z80 CPU in the center, the ROM containing Basic, and lastly on the right is 2K of RAM.

All of the chips are socketed, even, except for the RAM. I think this is because the board is designed with wide traces to accept either one wide 2K chip, or two slimmer 1K chips. You can see the empty place for another 1K chip there outlined in yellow, since this is a single 2K chip version. A socket would be of fixed size and prevent them from using one size or the other.
