This watch was a Microsoft idea which came along at the time before PDA's really took off. It worked by encoding your names/addresses/phone numbers/etc as thin white horizontal bars (like a sideways barcode) and flashed them on the screen at a fast pace, while you held the watch face towards it. Once it was finished you then had all that data in your watch! Quite clever really.

Found in my parent's attic.

The Time FDD 3000 was a dual 3" disk drive for the Sinclair ZX-Spectrum, produced in the 1980s. This also had its own internal RAM and Z80 CPU, so it was also a computer in its own right. It could be just used as a drive unit for the Spectrum or otherwise as the main computer running CP/M when it would use the Spectrum as keyboard. This was my first contact with a proper operating system with a C compiler.

Unfortunately the ZX-Spectrum seems to have long been disposed off (or is well hidden in the said attic).

Timex watches were fixed to Canadian Pacific's bow while she was on service at Selsey to prove how tough they were as an advertising promotion. Afterwards Timex watches were presented to the crew.

Remember when Timex sold more than watches? And when this computer really was a big deal? That Timex Sinclair 1000 (with Timex Sinclair 1016 16K memory module) had a screaming (for its time) 3.25MHz (not GHz) 8-bit Z80A microprocessor, with 2K of memory in the machine. I picked this one up because it had been marked down to move; the Timex Sinclair 2068 had just been introduced and I wanted something "embeddable" to hack with. I worked out the external interfaces and used those to drive some off-system hardware. Loads of fun. Then it went into the closet when I got married, then into the garage. Now it's in the office, part of my unofficial museum of things past.
