It is one of those days where I just don't feel like following a theme. so here is an older shot from some time ago.

Macro shots are one of my fave shots to do.

Happy Saturday

A rusty old car falling apart inside a make-shift shelter.

The Tasmanian town of Sheffield in the north of the state is famous for its murals, and this one is without doubt, my personal favourite. I just love the detail of the people in the ticket office of the mythical Sheffield Mount Roland Cable Car company, the shadows, the cat, and even the reflection of the photographer in the window which is all part of the mural, and definitely not a reflection of me!

A pseudo forced perspective shot of my 1/18th scale model 1930 Alfa Romeo by CMC models, taken with the backdrop of the main street of Sheffield in Tasmania. For those unfamiliar with my pseudo forced perspective shots, this is a background image of an older shot I took in Tasmania many years ago and is displayed on my hi-res 5K monitor. The car is on a tabletop (directly in front of the monitor) with a fake road base and lit with an LED desk lamp set on cool daylight. My fake road is usually much darker to match bitumen, but this is an experiment using a sheet of good old tracing paper to lighten it up a little to look more like smooth concrete. A bit too smooth I think, but it is experimental for now.

Union Pacific’s N200 manifest has stopped to switch in Spanish Fork, Utah the afternoon of Feb. 6, 1988. After the agency here closed in 1973, UP donated the building to a local chapter of the Old Timers Club, named for South Central District manager Harold B. Brandt. The Harriman standard depot along the Provo Subdivision at 5802 South Depot Road has seen very little use over the years, sitting vacant and derelict for decades.

For MM this week I decided to use my little Kodak Retinette.. The self timer lever on this camera still works :o) not bad for a camera over 50 years old.

It's challenging but I'm enjoying shooting with this little camera, and look forward to seeing my images.

I haven't used my timer for a while. Today I made a big tray of baked potatoes and I like this timer because it has a loud bell when the time is up. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

This is a shot of an ordinary pedestrian underpass in Munich - very ugly and lonesome, but I think that it offers nevertheless some potential for an interesting shot. Although ugly it's good fun to try to give such places an interesting look. The dark figure in the shot is actually myself and I just used the tripod + timer, no copy and paste here.

I wish I could have done this as a self portrait but using the timer was just impossible so.. I had to get my dad to hold the camera and shoot on continuous. It's kind of cheating but he did a great job and I'm really grateful for him helping out. =]

I saw this beautiful classy luxury car when I was in Nice, France in march 2016. It's simply stunning.

If you like my work be free to fave, comment and follow me! :)

You know sometimes despite being a man you feel you've just got to get into a dress. I admit my desire to wear a dress does go a bit further as I also enjoy wearing makeup, a wig, high heels and shaving my legs and chest...I rather love to pretend I'm a woman.

This is a self timer shot I took in August 2008 capturing a moment of real transvestite delight as I had seen this dress and knew I simply had to buy it and wear it. Most men do not desire this but some of us do and I simply could not resist.

Shooting l'air de rien - 25 août 2019

This is not a great photo, and I apologize. But I had to share what I was able to see on a recent visit to the Badlands near Drumheller. The Thirteen-lined Ground Squirrel is not extraordinarily rare, but is extremely uncommon prepared to its cousin, the Richardson's Ground Squirrel, AKA Prairie Gopher. If I wasn't 'on a timer' I would have stayed longer to get a nicer shot - it was a truly beautiful critter. But this is the best, there you go...

I like the background.

After our meal, the grotty weather we'd woken up to improved massively, so we decided to go for a little walk. I couldn't have lived with myself if I didn't try and timer shot while we were out, but as usual, things don't always go quite right!!

Lá vou eu pagar pau pra Essie. Mas merece.

Which doesn't really make any sense. Maybe f/11 would be a good choice?

But I've been very busy lately. Trying to figure out how to use my 17-yeal old camera and my much older tripod again.

The lens isn't quite that old. It's a long fast macro lens. I usually used it as a portrait lens.

This is chrysocolla with cobalto calcite. The cobalto calcite is the pink part. The specimen is just under 2'' long.

My protos and rares. It has taken about 2 and a half years to get these babies through numerous trades, sales and just plain gifts from people like Will himself. Some in here are rarer than others and vice versa.

Here I show you the Chinon Interval Timer. This works infinitely electromechanically. After inserting 4 AA batteries, the potentiometer can be used to set any desired time, in which the device extends a cable release. There is a ¼ inch thread in the housing for attachment.

To present it in a meaningful way here on a Fujica Rapid D1. This is a compact 35mm half-frame camera with a clockwork motor. It was introduced in 1966 and loaded with Rapid Film.

The D1 has a Fujinon 1:2.8f 28mm lens. Like most half-frame cameras, it takes portrait photos. Auto exposure is controlled by the large selenium cell around the lens. Manual exposure is also possible; Aperture ranges from f/2.8 to f/22 and shutter speeds are B, 1/30, 1/60, 1/125 and 1/300s. The focusing scale is in meters and feet and goes from 0.6 m to infinity.

Although the ribbed wheel on the right at the top of the camera looks like a rewind button, most notably with the red arrow pointing to the direction of rotation, this wheel is just winding up the self-timer.

In 4 hours I made 9 tutus. They still need elastic waists and closing up. But I'm happy because that's 23.3 meters of lace hand pleated.
