The people of car shows, something about this shot that I love, just seems like "old times" when life was simple, and good!
Polarized light.
Water timer, uses two penguins to indicate time lapse. . When the top one reaches the center, time is up. The water and oil effects the polarizing; results vary each time I shoot it.
Wanted a 10 second exposure to smooth out the reflection. So set the exposure and shutter, then the timer so I could scramble over onto the rock and then compose, take a deep breath, and sit still for 10 seconds.
Thought of trying one for 3 to 4 minutes, then decided no :))

I thought this night time shot was rather interesting for all the obvious reasons. However, the building is also round and the lighting is special. My title stands for Bottom Left & Top Right, note those are the rooms lit from inside.

A timer in the kitchen is essential when cooking or baking a number of dishes.
I like the light this timer gives off when it is timing
I specifically tried to capture minutes and seconds that are the first two numbers in an arithmetic series, e.g. 6, 12, 18, 24, ... n x 6...
Not part of the challenge, just fun for me.

Outside the old gatekeeper's cottage we find this old timer at work tending the gardens. Is it a warp in time? In fact it's a statue in tribute to the early gardeners who looked after this historic plant collection. Since the wood from which it is carved has darkened over time, it looks like a bronze. On the other side of the path you can see the old timer has left his jacket draped over a pole. Just like yesterday.
Union Canal at Fountainbridge, on a November evening, lights reflecting on the wet towpath. I was walking home from work, so wasn't carrying the tripod.
Instead I had set the timer and put the camera on top of one of the posts that the barges hook up to for power and water supplies, facing east, back to the old, stone, arched bridge.

Moose cow munching away at breakfast. This is really about the fall color. It was still fairly dark that morning, so I put the camera on the tripod, used the 2 second timer and hoped the moose wouldn't move. Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming, USA, October 2026
