A 40 minute timelapse from Crater Lake this afternoon, it's the first time I've been there and seen ANY clouds, never mind this many.
The second half of the video shows the difference in the colour of the water as the sunlight comes and goes.

Time lapse from the Stratosphere Restaurant in Las Vegas. Took over 5000 shots over 1 hour and 30 minutes to make the time lapse Removed pictures I didn't want (like the pillars). The occasional size change during playback is from Movie Maker. Dunno why. Have a HD version but it keeps stuttering on Flickr.

Another timelapse.
In this one you can see two meteors (one especially bright), a couple of planes and the fuzzy blob that moves from left into centre is the Andromeda Galaxy... about 2.5 million light years away.
An attempt at a timelapse . Shots were clicked manually since I didn't have an intervalometer. The two timelapses were taken at Baralachala and Pangong Lake , Ladakh, India .

Hiking under clear bluebird skies in the Sierra Nevada certainly has its charm: unobscured vistas of glimmering distant snow-capped peaks. On the other hand, hiking under stormy conditions offers so much more, as can be seen in this timelapse.
On that weekend backpack, I had had my share of those clear bluebird skies transitioning to a threatening mass of grey clouds in a matter of hours (and about 5 miles of hiking). As the thunderstorm, typical of the many summer storms that lash the high Sierras but quite atypical of the ending days of September, rolled in, it brought with it a magic in the clouds: an ever-changing swirling mass of wispy white water vapor whose form and structure are quite evanescent!.
I had stopped and wanted to shoot timelapses multiple times, but the short day and the dangers of hiking in a thunderstorm kept pushing us forward in a pace that left very little time for photography. So here is the only sequence that I shot there. Music from Thomas Bergerson's Illusion Album
I hope to combine it with timelapse sequence and create a much larger video.

I set this timelapse up to take photos of some daffodils opening in a vase as I sat at home working. Shots taken on a tripod, with an intervalometer set to take a photo every 3 minutes.
You can see a lot of initial action, folloed by nightfall and then very little movement overnight.

I was wondering if you can make a time-lapse from a video. Or can time-lapse’s only be done by putting the GoPro in time-lapse mode? I took a video that i would like to make into a time-lapse if its possible. Please tell me how to do it if you can. Thanks

Time lapse is just compressing time – speeding things up. I captured about 8 hours of video of a road trip, used the video editor in my computer to speed up a bit. The resulting 7 minute video is essentially a time lapse of a drive from Southern California to Northern California.
Since you did not tell us what you plan to edit with, we have know way to know if your video editor can speed up the video.
When a camera or camcorder (or in this case a GoPro) is put into “Time Lapse mode” they take a still image ever “x” seconds, then you need to import all the stills to the video editor – in order – and at 20-30 frames (or still images per second) tie them together to make the “time lapse video”…

"Terra Sacra" ~ Latin for Sacred Earth.
Terra Sacra is a short film featuring exquisite time lapse sequences of surreal landscapes and ancient monuments from around the globe. These images were photographed during my assignments and personal travels between 2006-2012.
Inspired by Ron Fricke's Baraka, I combined my favourite shots from these various trips into a brief, yet compelling non-narrative film that touches on the theme: Sacred Earth.
The visuals are driven by an original score by composer Roy Milner (roymilner.com). The six-minute film is a journey through three distinct Acts: (I) Primordial Earth (II) Past meets Present and (III) Eternal Universe.
This film is a personal project to share the beauty and awe I witnessed at these locations. I hope viewers will be moved by the intangible power of our Terra Sacra.
Endless thanks to Art Wolfe for hiring me to as the cinematographer for the public television series Art Wolfe's Travels to the Edge and taking me to the ends of the Earth where most of the shots from Terra Sacra were made. Art, you are an inspiration and the most driven photographer I have ever known! I learned so much working on this show with our amazing crew and have stories to tell for a lifetime!
