Timelapse South of the I70

This is part of a timelapse I did this afternoon with the GoPro Hero 2. Interval timer set to 5 seconds. The camera was attached to the outside of a window using the suction mount.

The clouds didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped - to much contrast in light I guess - but if you keep watching the big raindrop, it slides down the window and the camera focuses on that instead of the far distance clouds - I thought this the best bit as you can see the clouds moving in the rain drop!!

A full hour reduced 85 seconds.

Timelapse of the stars, taken September 20-21 2015 (10:09pm - 3:55am). Total of 1,205 photos, each 15 seconds @ ISO 1600 and f/4.

Another attempt at timelapse. It was bright sun light and i have no filters, so i could not lower the shutter speed below 1/650, so i could not use Mr whites advice of a slow shutter . This time I used a rock to steady it but there are still a few wobbles. One photo about every 5 seconds for 10 minuets. I'll keep trying and one day i might get it right.

Pulsating auroras, drifting patches that brighten and dim on the order of seconds to minutes, happen in the morning hours. First night back in Fairbanks after the Fort Yukon campaign. Should have left the lights on, this was a better shot with the eve and trees illuminated. Filmed at ISO3200: D7000 is impressive.

I did so many things wrong. Forgot my neutral density, had too small of a memory card, exposure was wrong, but heck you learn from you mistakes so I must be learning fast. LOL

Tried out the new feature of the 5DS to take timelapse videos in camera. Just set the exposure (hardest part with a sunset as it is fixed), decide how long the time will be as well as the final video and press the shutter...
