Over the summer weeks (if you can really call them summery at the moment). Time Out London are including a pull-out tourists guide to the capital. In it is a handy map of Central London, drawn up and Illustrated by us.
There's all sorts on there and it means that next time we go to London we will bore people with all the information we learnt about the landmarks as we researched them and what they look like. Enjoy! and if you get lost, don't come after us!

This is the "home team" for me. The Slammers all live a mile or two from me-the team was established and organised by a neighbour of mine who has nieces and daughters that didn't want to spend $4k for a posh club membership and still wanted to play with the big clubs. Well, during their last year, they took home several gold medals despite not having the "prestige" of an exclusive club!
...at times I almost dream
I, too, have spent a life the sages' way,
And tread once more familiar paths. Perchance
I perished in an arrogant self-reliance
Ages ago; and in that act, a prayer
For one more chance went up so earnest, so
Instinct with better light let in by death,
That life was blotted out-not so completely
But scattered wrecks enough of it remain,
Dim memories, as now, when once more seems
The goal in sight again...

Closeup of coach Mike Elliott in a timeout huddle. I had to do quite a bit of editing here-his face was VERY orange for some reason and quite florid. I isolated his face and neck, desaturated him, removed yellows and added blues
Beautiful map of African events, shops and other stuff in London put together by Time Out and Starbucks. These themed spaces work really well - giving a sense of how the African Diaspora has taken root in London as well as providing a more lateral vision of the city [than 'restaurants', 'bars', 'clubs', 'second hand shops etc.']. Great Idea.
I can vouch for Rontex textile shop on Cricklewood Broadway [11-15, NW2]. Great African fabrics, knowledgable staff and exoticism galore.
