From the series My Life In A Dome, photographing items from my childhood that have triggered the darker side of that experience.
I had rented a farm house on the coutryside in the Bobr valley, not far from Jelenia Gora. The farm is run by the non-profit organisation Time Out Poland. Here young people can find a moment of relaxation and peace, time to look inside oneself and take the opportunity to become who we really are.
The organisation Time Out helps children who have been abused or live on the streets. Children who have no chance to behave like children and for many of them everyday life is reduced to survival; modern civilization, though, contributes to further individualization. By offering the contact with nature and participation in building a place for the young and by the young, those who live on the dregs of the society have developed awareness that one can mean more for themselves and for others and that together they are able to take the future of the world in their own hands. Chicken, a dog and two cats walk around on the farm. Wood stoves keep the house warm, so on the first day we were motly busy cutting wood and making fire. We made a beautiful walk through the misty fields and hills to the village of Wlen. A little train took us back to the farm. Our friends would arrive that morning by nighttrain, but the international train was canceled because of the bad weather in The Netherlands. So they arrived one day later.

I had a travelcard paid through work so on the spur of the moment I took a heaving commuter train to Balham to have a drink in The Duke of Devonshire, another old Victorian Gin Palace. Being on my own, I asked a girl at the bar to take a picture of me "For research purposes, not because I'm completely vain!" She didn't believe me. I didn't drink gin though; it makes me a bit depressed.
This is a very interesting take on a time out! Jail time kids. It's just pretend but man, sometimes I think it would work!
