20 men took over an hour to move this cable reel about 20 feet. During that time, at least one person was nearly crushed by it, traffic was held up, multiple people stood around picking their noses, and one person (me) filmed it.
(By the way I had to Google to find out what the thing was called: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cable_reel)

I forgot I even had this video, I made it 2 years ago, on September 22, 2008 in Saratoga Springs, UT. Its a Time Lapse video of photos from a Canon 40D of the clouds moving. This was my first attempt at timelapse with a delayed shutter on a timer connected to a PC.

The Devil’s Staircase Wilderness, nestled along the Umpqua River east of Reedsport, Oregon, is a rugged and largely inaccessible area of old-growth forest in the Oregon Coast Range.
Douglas-fir, western hemlock and cedar trees tower over underbrush of giant ferns and huckleberries, providing critical habitat for the northern spotted owl and marbled murrelet.
The remoteness and steepness of the area has precluded most logging activity, and no developed trails provide present-day access to the wilderness.
The U.S. Forest Service and the BLM cooperatively manage the 30,000-acre wilderness, with the BLM responsible for approximately 8,600 acres.
Know Before You Go:
•Single lane gravel or paved roads access the area;
•High clearance vehicle is recommended;
•No motorized vehicles are allowed within the wilderness boundary;
•There are no facilities or developed trails in the wilderness; and
•Cell phone and GPS coverage in the area is intermittent.
Point of Interest:
Wasson Lake, located on the eastern boundary of the wilderness, is a pond with fluctuating water levels and is dotted with stumps from a long-ago forest.
Location:
The wilderness covers 30,000 acres of land between Reedsport and Scottsburg, Oregon, north of the Umpqua River.

Thousands of resettlers traveling west on the Oregon Trail used the shallow river ford, known today as McDonald Crossing, to traverse the lower John Day River on their way to the Willamette Valley and lands beyond. Today, McDonald Crossing is a rare confluence where national historic trail meets national wild and scenic river. At the McDonald Crossing interpretive site – a short distance from the western, Sherman County riverbank – a historic monument, ramada and informational signs help interpret the Oregon National Historic Trail and the area’s history.

About 1 hour compressed in to a 45 second time lapse. We get 1 barge under the bridges and two trains across it. The first is a very long Q265, not sure what the second one is.
