These little guys must think I hung the bell this way as a form of torture! Oops ... sorry, guys!

Another ooooops! I posted the incorrect version and replaced it with the right one. My apologies and my appreciation Deb and Ellen for your comments (copied and pasted below!)

has everything from the sound of birds, to tires travelling the gravel road on a nice Sunday afternoon, to the occasional whoosh of snowbanks melting into river....

Full version is here.

The weather feels like Summer, but the ocean knows it's still Winter. Azenhas do Mar "beach" (trust me, this is a very nice small beach in the Summer) at 4:36am. This is part of a dawn photowalk, after this one I climbed back to higher ground, and tripped on a rock in the dark, hitting the ground with the 5D Mk II - we both survived, with a few scratches - well enough for five more hours running around Sintra! We're tough!! :-)

The video was shot in bw, and I processed the levels a bit and slowed it down to 50%. This shot almost in the dark, so that's the reason it has so much grain.

When my friends and I go out to a café, we often order something to nibble. This is us attacking a plate of "Mondjesplezier" ("Mouth pleasure") in a café in Laarne called De Wastobbe :)

Unfortunately I didn't record it from the start.

Turned out a bit blurry too... the original video was nice and sharp :(

Julia and I were on our honeymoon and this is our first day in Florence. It was really beautiful and eerie. The bells added to the mystique created by the fog. We ate roasted chestnuts and walked the streets with nowhere to go. One of the best days of my life.

Detroit passenger tunnel

This is what Detroit Airport offers to calm its passengers in transit: an underground tunnel complete with colorful lighting that pulsates to background music. The lighting system consists of 30,000 ft² of translucent membranes (NewLight) with 40 curved areas in the connecting tunnel and two free-floating rotundas. The membranes are back-lit by projectors, which are electronically controlled to produce a range of colors and patterns.

I recorded this video (27s) last weekend. I will also be posting another short video of LA Union Train station. I have tons of photos which I have not had time to process.

All the footage was hand held and while driving (80mph) with the exception of the first three seconds. That's how we do it in SoCal! Hahaha :-)

And this is a new spot I found by China town while driving around the LA downtown area. I will have more information when I post the photos. :)

NOTE: Flickr is now accepting HD videos (see bottom of video).

Recorded with my Canon HF10 (1920x1080P). Used my powerbook with iMovie to import/edit/export the video.

Happy friday and have a great weekend everybody!

I'm not sure how this was allowed or legitimate... the only suspect part of the day, actually, as they were pretty careful to be sensitive to the ecology of the Reef... but after we ate lunch, the crew gave lunch to the fish!

As with all tour groups, they spent some time trying to upsell - here you'll hear them selling t-shirts, part of the funds of which go to saving sharks.
