My dogs can't be the only ones that do this, but every time Jimmy Dean, Link and Frank find a wild patch of onions they give them a good sniffing and then pee all over them - I guess they are marking or something.
Los Angeles Union Train Station | Plan your trip here. :-)
I went to scout this place the other day to find out their photo policy. I will go back to take still photos. It was recorded the same day as this video.
I found out that I could take a train to San Francisco (SF) and that it would take 10 hours to get there. It is a long trip by train! Local airlines are offering $39 air fares for one way to SF (Flight Duration 1 hour 5 min.) and it is exactly what I will be doing soon.
Have a fabulous Friday and Weekend!

This video was taken during the Spring 2009 migration of the Sandhill Cranes specifically so that you could hear the cranes.
About 20,000 of them pass through Colorado on their way to summer breeding grounds near Yellowstone. The Monte Vista Wildlife Refuge is in the San Luis Valley of Colorado, surrounded by 14,000' mountains and covered in farmland and wetlands.
you can hear mother nattering when i said SHHH XD haha
but yeah she just had some cheese and a hairball cut
i love my cat
Swirling takes up all my time
Makes me know that I'm
Above you
Swirling curling up in smoke
It started as a joke but...
Love you
Moss suspended on a grave
and growing in a cave
Where I can carve your name
Love you
Swirling occupies my life
And if I had a wife
she'd be you
Swirling takes up all my time
And if that's such a crime
why love you?
Moss suspended on a stone
and down the telephone
To where I call your name

If you've got a Pro account and the bandwidth, I recommend hitting that HD button in the lower right of the frame. But look out.

Link wanted to go for a walk and it is really nice day, but I had to get Jimmy Dean's rawhide away from him before I could take the boys out for a walk.
The video is kind of dark (poor lighting) - but it gave me a laugh.

Using the Time Lapse application on my iPhone, I took a time lapse video of my flight from Montreal to New York.
Two things.
1. The iPhone's camera doesn't do a very good job in low light situations.
2. Since there is more than one piece to airplane windows you can see a reflection of me reading on my Kindle when it's pitch black outside.
A neat experiment and now I'm looking for a cheap point-and-shoot camera which will do time lapse or interval shooting.
I recommend watching the HD version here!
Went to the main station in Ghent for a small time-lapse video. I took 1090 photos, one every 3 seconds, so that's about one hour of platform life you see. Then I turned them into this movie with 15 photos per second. Check the setup here. Had to stop early because there weren't any trains for about 40 mins on that platform :(
Time-lapse is fun! The green hoody guy at the end and start is me :) The shadows on the floor are mine too, whoops! If you look close enough you can see the clock changing! But it's a bit bright.
Taken with my Canon EOS 400D (flickr seriously messed up the quality)
Music: Neo - Régi Ismerõs.
From the soundtrack of one of my favorite movies Kontroll.

On by pokračoval, kdyby žil déle? jeho rodiče byli muzikanti?

I've tried to be particularly careful with the music in this one. While most of it is copyright free, the last four measures were taken from a gravestone. We came across them during our cemetery walk on Sunday wondered what they would sound like. I think what really interests me is the idea of mixing visuals and stumbling across non-tangible moments so-to-speak (and appreciating the artwork :)
what music did he play? would he have continued if he had lived longer? were his parents musicians?

has everything from the sound of birds, to tires travelling the gravel road on a nice Sunday afternoon, to the occasional whoosh of snowbanks melting into river....
The weather feels like Summer, but the ocean knows it's still Winter. Azenhas do Mar "beach" (trust me, this is a very nice small beach in the Summer) at 4:36am. This is part of a dawn photowalk, after this one I climbed back to higher ground, and tripped on a rock in the dark, hitting the ground with the 5D Mk II - we both survived, with a few scratches - well enough for five more hours running around Sintra! We're tough!! :-)
The video was shot in bw, and I processed the levels a bit and slowed it down to 50%. This shot almost in the dark, so that's the reason it has so much grain.
When my friends and I go out to a café, we often order something to nibble. This is us attacking a plate of "Mondjesplezier" ("Mouth pleasure") in a café in Laarne called De Wastobbe :)
Unfortunately I didn't record it from the start.
Turned out a bit blurry too... the original video was nice and sharp :(

Julia and I were on our honeymoon and this is our first day in Florence. It was really beautiful and eerie. The bells added to the mystique created by the fog. We ate roasted chestnuts and walked the streets with nowhere to go. One of the best days of my life.
Detroit passenger tunnel
This is what Detroit Airport offers to calm its passengers in transit: an underground tunnel complete with colorful lighting that pulsates to background music. The lighting system consists of 30,000 ft² of translucent membranes (NewLight) with 40 curved areas in the connecting tunnel and two free-floating rotundas. The membranes are back-lit by projectors, which are electronically controlled to produce a range of colors and patterns.
