Elegant tilework on the chimney of Peters Cartridge Company in King's Mills, OH. Built in 1860s. Munitions work ceased in 1944. Creepy place that's very tough to get into. Forgotten Ohio did a better study of this place than I could ever hope to:

The Noor Mahal (Urdu: نور Ù…ØÙ„‎) is a palace in Bahawalpur, Punjab, Pakistan. It was built in 1872 like an Italian chateau on neoclassical lines. It belonged to the Nawabs of Bahawalpur princely state, during British Raj.
The tileworks covering the parapet and the gable of this abandoned house look like they're from before 1969 as is claimed. The house was probably built in that year but because it's in Sha Tau Kok, the sensitive, long-isolated border area on the Hong Kong side from mainland China, there's reason to say that everything, including building designs, probably lags behind by 20 or 30 years. But the tide will soon turn as the border restrictions are lifted and rapacious property developers move in to replace the beautiful reedy fields with samey apartment blocks.
although it does not look like it - this tile wall was the front of a store between omote-sando and shibuya, in tokyo.

"Jeugd" [Youth]. One of two pieces of Art-Nouveau tilework in the portico by an unknown artist. At the bottom, near the right-hand corner, the name of earthenware factory "De Distel" in Amsterdam. Date unknown, but not before 1903 (when the house was constructed) and not after 1923 (when the factory was taken over). For its counterpart, go here.
The importance of tilework in Persian architecture arises from two important factors; first the need to weatherproof the simple clay bricks used in construction, and secondly the need to ornament the buildings. The colours used were blue, yellow, turquoise, pink, aubergine and green.

The Moraga Street tiled stairway. This is the longest tiled stairway in the world and started as a local initiative fromthe community www.tiledsteps.org. The tilework is wonderfully detailed at it takes a long time to go up or down the stairways since one is looking closely at all of the detail.
