Can I just say I am soooo happy to have an electric stovetop again! I hated the gas stove at the rental house and swear I will never ever cook with gas again. I know some people swear by gas stoves, but it was definately not for me!

The beautiful barrel-vaulted ceiling in Michigan Central Station's proud waiting room.

This portion of the station is over fifty feet tall and was designed to resemble a classical Roman bath house. This tilework is unspeakably beautiful.

This picture and the next lot of them are from my trip to the station in August of 2008.

Great doorway with awesome tilework.

Parc Guëll, Barcelona

A connecting flight of stairs leads to another famous feature of the park: the Gran Placa Circular. Originally intended as a market place for the residents, this plaza is bordered by what is known as the largest bench in the world. The colorful ceramic serpentine bench, designed by Jujol, twists snakelike around the plaza. The view from the plaza is spectacular, you can see as far as the Mediterranean Sea. The whole platform is supported by 86 huge columns, creating a hall beneath the plaza, known as the Sala Hipòstila. www.aviewoncities.com/barcelona/parcguell.htm

The Moraga Street tiled stairway. This is the longest tiled stairway in the world and started as a local initiative fromthe community www.tiledsteps.org. The tilework is wonderfully detailed at it takes a long time to go up or down the stairways since one is looking closely at all of the detail.
