#ABFAV_FAVOURITE_PLACE 💖

After months of longing and waiting, at last we were FREE to drive the 2hrs to the Yorkshire Heritage Coast, Scarborough.

It was a lovely outing, everything that fresh May-green, not warm but sunny.

We were filled with hope.

we arrived in this colour place that is Scarborough.

But we were so surprised to see it so empty and so many businesses CLOSED. I

It looked dull, the sky now low and menacing, we drove the whole promenade, both bays, enjoying everything.

And the: the rain started, torrential.

We remained wisely in the car: overlooking the deserted beach, only the gulls bathing in a frenzy.

After almost an hour, Paul decided to go home, it looked so hopeless.

I said, why not take another tour, maybe drive up to the canter, otherwise too full and busy?

And up we went, driving around, and arriving at the top of the hill, I saw that it seemed a little brighter and was coming our way, it was however still raining and dark,

We parked and decided to wait a little to see what was to be?

It slowed down, the view over the North-bay was breathtaking.

At last the sun was back, brighter than ever, waterI had taken s hot before, out of desperation, but now the light was back!

Have a great day and thank you for your time, Magda, (*_*)

The Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) is a 1.7 kilometre (1.06 mile) long, 2 million square metre (22 million square foot) gross floor area waterfront community located against the Persian Gulf in Dubai Marina. It is the largest single phase residential development in the world and contains 40 towers (36 are residential and 4 are hotels). JBR's capacity is about 10.000 people living in its apartments and hotel rooms.

Digital Blending, 6 exposures at f/2.8 (between 0.5 to 15 seconds). It was already quite dark (9:30pm), but the D300 sensor can do miracles! ;-)

Have not been very active on flickr this past week. The dense haze here has become a real obstacle for photo shooting! But it is starting to get better today.

Transition from sea to shore during the ebb tide.

Usually if I am out shooting on a cloudy or foggy day, I am thinking about what will look good in black and white. But sometimes color works too.

At one of my favorite places on the California coast, Davenport Landing, Just north of Santa Cruz, California.

Due to the fact that the wind comes almost from West, the waves become the same direction, from W to E, and wash the sand away

To stop/make less this washout effect, to break the stronght of the waves - that's the reason of this pillars. In the northern part of Zeeland there are beaches , many km long, and there are this pillars, always two lines together, repeating so about 500m. Depending from tide/low tide you can see 2,0m or nothing from them.

A long exposure, black and white image, of the incoming tide at Weston Super Mare in Somerset.

Thanks for looking folks.

Also notice the footsteps of a dog who recently pasted in the front of the picture...

Rainy day on the Sea of Cortez at low tide - San Felipe, Baja (Mexico).

It's amazing what is revealed on the sea floor when the tide is out. This is my last scene from Victoria-by-the-Sea for now. I miss those rich green and red hues and the smell of the fresh sea air. You can just make out some people walking in the distance to give you some sense of the vastness of this space.

The water was creeping ever further with each small swell. There is nothing anyone can do, except watch in wonder as the tide creeps in.

View On Black

I wanted to walk into the water more to get another angle but it didn't take long for the tripod to sink deeper and deeper in the mud as the tide rolled in.

Low Tide at Blackdog Beach, Aberdeenshire.

Bench overlooking Arthurstown beach & pier, a great beach for birdwatching in the Winter months with flocks of Curlew & Brent Geese plus the usual Gulls & smaller shorebirds HBM!

I noticed today it is nine months since I posted a picture of my favourite boat. How time flies. This was from may 2019 when I spent a few days in the Scottish Highlands.

Last May (2019) I spent some time in the Scottish Highlands which meant I had to go and see my favourite boat; the MV Dayspring.

Here she is shot in sunny weather with Ben Nevis in the background. She has been in this position since she foundered during a bad storm on December 8th 2011 on the shore near Corpach in the Scottish Highlands. The tide has never been high enough since to re-float the boat so she remains here stuck on land rotting away. She is still privately owned.

You all know how I love to photograph this boat. It is a sad but beautiful sight to me. I have become very attached to this boat. To me it has become part of the landscape here.

Here is some of her history

Love to watch these little Sanderlings run back and forth ahead of the incoming waves.

Waiting for sunrise this morning down at Islandhill. I was slowly sinking into the mud just to get this shot...but the colours were great :)

St Ives is a very famous, beautiful fishing town in Cornwall. It has been attracting artists for decades. JMW Turner and Henry Moore came to St Ives in the mid-1800s and since then the town has homed painters, sculptors and ceramists who have been drawn here by the spectacular light and and the rugged coast line

It is one of my favourite places ..
