This week we are going back forty-one years to 1982 and to D 397 on Burgh Quay. The bus is dressed for route 62. This route started operating in 1936, being extended from Goatstown to Kilmacud in 1962, and to Beaufield Park (behind the Stillorgan Shopping Centre) in 1966. The route ceased to operate in 1999 when it was replaced by an extended route 11.
D 397 was new to CIE in 1971 and was withdrawn in 1985.

Sometimes you don’t need a reason to post a photo for Throwback Thursday. We believe this is one of those photos. What’s your favorite suit in the crowd?

In the early 50's DeGrazia started working on ceramics. This is when he perfected his copper-based glaze. NBC studios recorded a newsreel, called 'Watch the World,' where they filmed DeGrazia and Marion making these ceramics. He used original molds and his inspirations were taken from desert shapes and colors. Happy Throwback Thursday!
I love vehicles of all makes and models worth loving. But I just happen to own two Chevrolet's at the moment.
That being the case people assume I'm a Chevy only guy. I often get smack talk about Chevy's large displacements over Fords much smaller engines putting out equal or more power. Well, lets take a moment this Thursday to remember Fords BIG-O 7 Litre!
Happy Thursday Everyone! Ride into the weekend as if you were in this gorgeous, powerful, convertible!
***Decided to merge images from my old Flickr account with my current account. Photos and descriptions from 2007-2009.

This gentleman was an interesting fellow. I talked to him for a little bit about the neighborhoods. He was asking if I worked for the news. I replied that I work for Flickr:)
After looking back at old photos yesterday I have decided to upload some of my favourite old photos. One a week for a year, It's throwback time!
In 2019, Bolivia lost more than 6 million hectares of forest and grassland to forest fires.
When the country requested support with its response to the crisis last summer, the EU Civil Protection Mechanism helped mobilise a specialised French firefighting team to assist Bolivian authorities in fighting the fires.
The EU also supported the Bolivian firefighters by providing items such as tents and water pumps to enable them to do their job. A team of 6 Swedish experts established a remote basecamp facility which could shelter 200 people in tents with electricity and water.
In addition, the EU team built an operation centre and trained the local forces how to use it in the future.
The response helped protect houses, communities and several national parks from the danger.

19 years ago this week, the little guy first made his appearance into this world. He's a lot bigger now.
throwback (n): reversion to an earlier type or phase
This weeks theme? 80's. I have to tell you that I got all dressed up but my pictures stunk. My bangs are too heavy and just don't remember how to stand up straight. My braided leather belt is still the same length but my hips...not so much. It just doesn't hang right now. The end of it, that we used to loop around and back through the belt is just a little nub.
But I still have a huge chambray shirt circa late 80's early 90's. I still know how to apply black eyeliner to the inside of my lids. And I've still got some awesome scrunch socks. Yep, I still got it.
And who can remember the 80's without busting out their Aqua Net. You gotta have that hairdryer to get the full on wing effect to the hair. The comb makes for easy teasing on the bangs, provided they aren't too long. And you just can't go wrong with a finger full of tulip rings and that Swatch!
I swear, if banana clips ever come back in style. I'm there. I'm so there.
