USS Peleliu At Sea - Service members, their families and friends view an air-power display aboard USS Peleliu, May 9. During the last leg of the deployment, guests came aboard the ship to experience life on the Peleliu and to learn what their Marine or sailor has accomplished during the past seven months. The 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit is comprised of approximately 2,400 Marines and sailors and is deployed as part of the Peleliu Amphibious Ready Group. Together, they provide a forward-deployed, flexible sea-based Marine Air Ground Task Force capable of conducting a wide variety of operations ranging from humanitarian aid to combat. Last one I swear :p so the bottom left picture is my throwback 2 years ago competing at the Junior Olympics/Nationals meet in the 100 and 200 meter hurdles. The top two pictures are 4x4 and 4x1 and the bottom right is when I went to state in the 4x1 with 2 seniors and a sophomore. I also run the 100m, 200m, if I have to... Hurdles. I do long jump and Javelin. This post was inspired by THE J0KER. So thank you! I have three more years in high school track and field and that means I'll always be busy ish In February to June. Anyways hope you'll enjoy! Oh and if anyone does track, comment below!

As time went on and DeGrazia’s success exploded, a demand for his art reached an all time high. In 1974 DeGrazia formed his artists guild. They would reproduce his original images to satisfy public demands, which included jewelry, figurines, candles, and many more items. Happy Throwback Thursday!

***Decided to merge images from my old Flickr account with my current account. Photos and descriptions from 2007-2009.

Location: Barcelona, Spain

DeGrazia shared dual passions for art and music. In 1945, DeGrazia completed his Master of Arts in Music at the University of Arizona. For his thesis, “Art and Its Relation to Music in Art Education”, he explored the connection between visuals and music. Visitors can hear DeGrazia’s music in the gallery’s gift shop. Happy Throwback Thursday!

This week we are going back forty-three years to 1982, but staying in Marlborough Street, to see a parked D 629 between duties on route 30.

Route 30 started operating between the city centre and Dollymount, going via Fairview and Clontarf, in 1938. In 1996, it and route 44A were replaced by new route 130, operated by City Imp minibuses.

D 629 was new to CIE in 1975. It was withdrawn by Dublin Bus in 1992, and was sold on for scrap.

The ad on the side of the bus is for Dingos Jeans, an Irish brand set up in the 1970s.

This side of Marlborough Street is now home to the tram tracks of the southbound Luas Green Line.

A Manhattan-bound Q train arrives at Beverley Rd station, sporting the diamond Q bullet used during the Manhattan Bridge reconstruction, when the Q was the only train running on the Brighton Line. Since it was both a local and express service operating at the same times it fit the criteria for a diamond bullet to differentiate the two. This is the current criteria for a diamond bullet, which is why the <6> and <7> are currently in use, but not the <5>.

Late Charger

The Charger was produced from 1966-1978. Like my wagon these later models are unrecognized by many. So I thought It was cool to showcase these in this weeks Throwback!

A short hop back nine years this week. In December 2007 Dublin Bus introduced into service the second batch of Enviro 500s. The first batch of twenty had been delivered in 2005 and went to Donnybrook. The second batch of fifty initially went to Phibsborough and appeared on a number of routes of that garage. These differed from the first batch by having a wider front door and LED destination displays. VT 25 is seen on Hawkins Street which was the then terminus for Blanchardstown routes. A few short years later it was transferred to Donnybrook as part of the VT 21-35 batch to supplement the other VTs on the 46A and 145. Dublin is one of the few cities in the world to operate the tri-axle Enviro 500s. 14/1/2007

This week we are going back thirty-eight years to 1992 and to D 378 parked on O'Connell Street.

This Leyland Atlantean was new to CIE in 1970. In 1988 Dublin Bus started operating tours around the city. The same year this bus, as part of the tour fleet, emerged in a special livery to mark Dublin's millennium. Initially it had no roof, but later that year it received this perspex roof. After 1988 it had a number of either special or advertising liveries, before receiving this design in 1992. The bus was withdrawn in 1997 and later sold for scrap.

When delivered in 1970, it had the registration plate "378 IK", but for its millennium livery it received registration plates displaying 88-D-988.

Dublin Bus still operate open-top tours around the city in 2025.

This week we are going back eleven years to 2014, and to GT 80 on Terenure Road North with a service on route 49 to The Square (Tallaght).

Route 49 started running between the city centre and Kimmage Cross Roads in 1925. In 1928 it was extended to Tallaght. From 1943 to 1949 (during, and shortly after, the Second World War) it was cut back to only run between Terenure and Tallaght, regaining its full routing in 1949. In 1990 its Tallaght terminus moved the new shopping centre, The Square. It still terminates there today.

GT 80 was new to Dublin Bus in 2012, the last member of the original order of GT-Class buses. The GTs were the first double-decker buses to be delivered with middle doors in 13 years. 80 more GTs were delivered in 2013, and in 2018 12 of them transferred to Go-Ahead Ireland. GT 80 is still in service with Dublin Bus today (and even did a trip on route 49 on the day I am posting this).

This isn’t a Corvette. It’s the Equus Throwback.

Okay, so it is a Corvette, sort of.

But this Corvette has been restyled, and given a little bit more grunt by Equus Automotive, creator of the Bass770.

The retro-inspired Throwback is a limited model, with only 25 planned by the Detroit-based company, which utilises the ‘Vette as a basis to create a “significantly upgraded” muscle car.

The Corvette’s supercharged V8 can be tuned to an output of 746kW and 1114Nm. Equus says it’s capable of a 2.5-second run to 97km/h (60mph), and has a top speed of 354km/h.

Equus Autmotive’s goal with the Throwback was to inspire a sense of nostalgia in muscle car fans while providing a car with modern-day usability.

“The Throwback model uses unique styling language in its outer skin to create a breathtaking vision of the ultimate Corvette. Equus takes the customer down memory lane to an era when Corvettes were synonymous with performance and class.

“The Throwback can be personalized for the design orientated drivers or for the fastest paced performance centric customer, always emphasizing the original love of an icon, desire for innovation and uncompromised quality.

“Just as companies like Brabus and Alpina focus on European brands, Equus Automotive is focused on providing American Sports car lovers the ultimate interpretation of todayʼs designs.

In the early 50's DeGrazia started working on ceramics, this is when he perfected his copper-based glaze. NBC studios recorded a newsreel, called "Watch the World”, where they filmed DeGrazia and Marion making these ceramics. He used original molds and his inspirations were taken from desert shapes and colors. Happy Throwback Thursday!

In 2019, Bolivia lost more than 6 million hectares of forest and grassland to forest fires.

When the country requested support with its response to the crisis last summer, the EU Civil Protection Mechanism helped mobilise a specialised French firefighting team to assist Bolivian authorities in fighting the fires.

The EU also supported the Bolivian firefighters by providing items such as tents and water pumps to enable them to do their job. A team of 6 Swedish experts established a remote basecamp facility which could shelter 200 people in tents with electricity and water.

In addition, the EU team built an operation centre and trained the local forces how to use it in the future.

The response helped protect houses, communities and several national parks from the danger.

Exercise Iron Fist 2012

(Feb. 7, 2012)

An AV-8B Harrier jet lands on the flight deck of the USS Peleliu, Feb. 7. Marines and sailors with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, and soldiers with the Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force, are participating in a weeklong at-sea period during Exercise Iron Fist 2012, which encompasses all aspects of the Marine Air Ground Task Force during the amphibious landing on to the island and provides the Navy/Marine Corps team an opportunity to practice their craft. Exercise Iron Fist 2012 is a bilateral training exercise, which gives the 15th MEU a chance to demonstrate its amphibious capabilities to the Japanese. on.fb.me/1eWgjSR

Well long ago I haven't retouched this colorstyle. Around 2007~ 2009 those retro styles are so trendy that everyone loves to use them. So instead of TBT stands for throwback thursday, I used it as Throwback Tuesday * because today is Tuesday*
