A shady trail on a warm day.

Easter Sunday at St John the Baptist (Markyate, Hertfordshire). The boundary between the sacred and the profane, between life and death has been removed. Has it?

A quit moment in the forest with autumn light breaking through the trees. A reminder that September is the best month to capture sunbeams with still green hues.

I thought that this was the most striking and memorable item on display at Munich's State Museum of Egyptian Art. It is actually the top part of a broken sarcophagus.

RELATIVELY LARGE with a huge red and black bill. Mostly solitary and territorial in most aquatic habitats. This one is stretching its wings, in readiness to take off, if I get any closer. A beautiful kingfisher, seen at the Kotu area !

ITS MY BIRTHDAY, so not sure what time I will get on line.

Stay well and safe, God bless... ................Tomx.

Day 2 part1. From Hofdabrekka to Hali Country Hotel. Road 1, 209, 208. Distance 210 km.

At the end of road 208 we drove at a very narrow and bumpy road which was about 200 meters parallel to road 1. The road is about 20 km long and passes through SkaftĆ”reldahraun, a vast lava field ( c 600km2) covered with a thick layer of moss. Of course you can take road 1 but ā€œourā€ road is much more beautiful and exciting. The max speed is about 10km/h. Half way you can go on road 1 if you want.

We didn’t see FjaưrĆ”rgljĆŗfur canyon because it was closed thanks to Justin Bieber.

We had a stop at the Lómagnúpur rock formation and at the SkeiðarÔ bridge monument. Meanwhile for miles we drove straight towards the glaciers SkeiðarÔrjökull, Skaftafellsjökull and Svinafellsjökull ; all glaciers of the Vatnajökull glacier( 8100 km2). A very impressive view.

Sunset at Smith Rock through autumn haze and approaching clouds.

We started the day on Friday with a drive through Silver Bow to see if anything was working there. After striking out on the Butte Anaconda & Pacific the previous morning, this time we saw that they already had their headlights on. After shuffling cars around their yard briefly, they ran east as light power from Silver Bow to Butte. With 10mph track the whole way, it's a fairly easy chase into town. The power is lettered for the Rarus Railway, which previously took over this line when the original BA&P was sold. Today, Patriot Rail owns the railroad and has brought back the original name.

A much copied view through the support piers at the Ouse Valley Viaduct in Sussex, UK. Using a fish eye lens but with the distortion corrected. I usually prefer the curved image but, in this case, I think it gives a better perspective.

Union Pacific's MRONY 22 manifest freight ascends the 2% grade through the horseshoe above Gilluly, Utah the morning of Aug. 22, 2008. In seven additional miles, the train will stop at Soldier Summit, and the manned helpers will be cut out of the train, running light to Helper Yard where they will tie up.

So, i've been missing from Flickr for a while... So, hello again.

We just had the heaviest rain I have seen for a long time.

I wasn't going to venture out so I shot this through the front door keyhole.

My poor roses took a bit of a battering though

A Southern Pacific CSUX coal empty climbs through the ā€œS curvesā€ at Crater, Colorado, on the afternoon of July 30, 1996. The head end with lone SP AC4400CW No. 298 has already passed through the cut that is visible at the top of the photo. Mid-train DPUs Nos. 217 and 371 climb between the curves in the middle, while rear DPUs follow below with Nos. 361 and 226.

And now I know what they're saying

It's a terrible beauty we've made

So we make our love on wasteland

And through the barricades

California towhee

While this is a common rather dull bird in California and the photo is not stellar, I couldn't help but post this as it is a perfect demonstration of the phrase "jumping through hoops".

Pathway through the Bognor Marsh Conservation Area, Ontario.

Standing in front of my mirror

And everything seems to be wrong

All I see is a pale, ugly woman

Too tired to do anything against it

You turn up and lead me back on my way

Because I went astray

You just treat me like a princess

And I start to feel like it

If I could see me through your eyes

If I could touch me with your hands

If I could smell me with your nose

What would I be like?

On these days when everything seems to be wrong

I'd like to know what you think when you look at me

What do you see?

'Cause when I look at you, you seem to be perfect,

I don't deserve you it?s so hard to believe

That you are really in love with me....♄

"My hearts version"

One might think this photo is edited. Not so, not the moon, but the sun through a morning fog that was lifting. Strange to be able to view the sun with the naked eye A great moment lasting only a few minutes. Not a beautiful morning sunrise, but an interesting one.

Thanks for the visit!!

āœ Carmine Superiore is a tiny village of medieval origin, reachable only on foot from the underlying hamlet of Carmine Inferiore. Consisting of a small number of stone houses, it stands on a rocky outcrop overlooking the western shore of Lake Maggiore.

Its evocative alleys, dominated by ancient stone and the silence of a late January afternoon, reminded me of the charm of the magical village of Hogsmeade.

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !!

Today is an orange day at Color my World Daily and the theme at Crazy Tuesday is A Picture Through. We have a picture through my glasses. We had (the whole family) an appointment at the eye doctor this weekend so this picture is highly topical. I love wearing glasses and I’m highly addicted to very bold frames. The bigger, the better especially if you have to hide huge designer bags under your eyes (that is my case !!) ! So yes, my glasses are big, thick and very black. And I have many different frames. Yes, I hoard glasses… I hope you will like my picture and I hope it will be accepted for this challenge !!

Mucho, mucho amor for you my friends !! Have a beautiful day !!!

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and well!! And see you soon on Flickr !

This evening's view with sundown and new snow on the lake as a distant family fish. Thanks for looking and have a great day!

"THEY ARE BACK !" Love long tailed tits, and I loose them from my garden, every summer to nest and breed,, but today they returned , great joy !!!, this is a old image not shown before, Have learnt a new way to attract them, if you make pshhh sound through pursed lips and clenched teeth, the birds will some-times come close to investigate the source of this strange sound. They are a delightful confiding little bird !.
