There have been several live action Bo-Katan Kryze figures released, and to be completely frank while I'm not a Star Wars fan at all, I feel bad that pretty much none of the look like the actor, Katee Ssakoff.
With that said, I feel that FINALLY, salvation has come in the form of what is generally the most overpriced, the Mafex option.
Unless I get really bored, this will likely be the only Star Wars figure I will ever own, with my last purchase probably close to 7 years ago.
Accessory wise, I guess it has everything she needs? Helmet, Jetpack with sadly fixed missile, Jetpack Flame effects, Twin Blasters, Gauntlet Knife and Grapnel Hook adapters. The latter is a piece of metal wire with a non functional claw on the end of it, and I don't think it's meant to be poseable, and I don't want to find out the hard way either so I just left it at that.
The face turned out pretty much as well as I hoped and expected. I know it's been said that the actor is hard to capture but I feel like the other releases didn't exactly try that hard.
While the head sculpt is pretty good on this figure, the articulation is pretty average, effectively hampered by a bod that does OK at this sort of thing, combined with the extra bulk that is the costume. The effect of this is felt most at the hips, where you not only have the armour plating, but also the effects of the functional holsters in the area. Mind you, it's not like the upper body is a godsend either because it's only function at the default level of "OK".
Paint Applications are pretty clean. I don't own too many of these, but poor paint quality isn't really a consistent issue I hear about on these figures. Sure enough, things look pretty solid. Nice crisp, clean effects Digital Painting is still that.. it's not going to replace proper painting any time soon but it does the job.
Build Quality is kind of an interesting story. So the good news is that there were no issues with joints or any of that usual staff. The issue, however, was that the piece of the right Gauntlet that needed to be removed in order to swap in the other accessories, was effectively glued in, and taking it out was a PAIN. I think what happened was that there was a bit too much paint applied and it seeped down the crack and dried, effectively sealing it in. Luckily, it seems that I got it out intact and with relatively no damage.
