Polaroid Week, Spring 2022. Day 1, 2 of 2.

Instructions available on papaglop.com

One of many large flocks of Sanderlings, Manresa State Beach, California.

My great friend, and first time filmmaker, Fergal O’Riordan, outside our beautiful and community run, art deco cinema, here in Newton Stewart. He is pointing to the poster he also designed. Total passion and dedication. This was the way he did it. The day after was the premiere of his movie - ‘Return to Summerisle.’ After all the sacrifices he made, I really hope he can get it into film festivals and distributed.

Weathervane from early 1800s.

It honors the 1st Fire Engine purchased in Warren, RI, USA in 1802 & called "Hero". This predates an organized volunteer firefighting town dept.. Citizens would respond to fires in town that were near them. They transported the engine themselves, as it was easier to navigate the narrow streets in town, and they also fought the fires. The "Hero" steam powered fire engine may be seen in the Firefighter Museum, 38 Baker St., Warren, RI, USA

Theme: "This is the Way"

Thank you for taking the time to view my photo. Your faves and comments are greatly appreciated!

Hansel and Gretel try to find their way home through the enchanted candyfloss trees, but will they only find a gingerbread house owned by a nasty witch?

Day three of my experiments with a new/second-hand bargain Samyang 8/3.5 fisheye CS lens. Taken as a FF image before cropping down.

I'm learning the hard way that the sky can get overexposed very easily with a fisheye lens because of the huge field of view.

In PP, I've tweaked the levels and shifted the RGB colour spectrum round by 120 degrees (blue is green, green is red and red is blue).

Are you ready for new season The Mandalorian? Mandalorian in Action!

But not always, as every cyclist knows.

Salzburg, Austria - This is the Way to have an epic holiday. This view was taken from the Hohensalzburg Fortress. We could have ridden the funicular (the train that goes up steep hills), but we opted for the stairs. Why? Because the challenge called upon us, and you can make silly decisions when traveling.

along a newly-spotted footpath that runs near the main path from the west bank of Mammoth Lake to the River Soar.

Flickr Friday: This Is The Way

This is the way I want to live, in dusty dressing rooms and dance studios, at the barre or on a ballet floor, backstage behind the curtains or on stage in the blinding lights, and DANCING.

Taken for the FiickrFriday theme 'This is the Way" and for my project 365.

There is a cottage in Old Town, Isles of Scilly called 'nowhere' and this is the sign for it.

A few years ago I read an eulogy published in a local paper following the death of a local character who had once lived at the cottage. The story went that the character had been called up into the army for his national service where the drill sergeant asked 'WHERE ARE YOU FROM"? the nuance of the answer "NO WHERE SCILLY" was lost on the sergeant with predicatble results..

International Bomber Command Centre, Lincoln.

In memory of the 57,000 plus service personnel who gave their lives during the Second World War.

The walk to the central monument at the centre. The tower at the end of the path stands 102 feet tall. The height is the same as the wing span of a Lancaster Bomber. Along the path are paving slabs, dedicated to the memory of some of those lost.

Can you imagine these two running around together? Maybe Groot will make a cameo appearance in an upcming episode of The Mandalorian.

I’m no Star Wars fan. But when the Mandalorian came on tv I thought I’d give it a go (I like the actor Pedro Pascal). I was hooked on all three seasons.

Why do Mandalorians say this is the way?

Mandalorians who adhered to the Way would state "This is the Way," a legendary Mandalorian motto, when following its ideals. Mandalorians not of that Creed would treat followers of the Way with scorn, and viewed their beliefs as superstitious.

A positive result of being home more during this crazy quarantine is more time to finish models. I started this one after I saw the first episode of The Mandalorian back in November of 2019 and it was another slow-burn build.

Honestly, I didn't really like the Razor Crest the first time I saw it - it looked kinda squat, and those oversized engines were weird. But after seeing it a few more times, I came to love it's quirky shape and interesting proportions.

The #FlickrFriday #ThisIsTheWay challenge

The RAF Red Arrows Squadron passes Colchester, flying towards Buckingham Palace in London. About 15 minutes later they concluded the ceremonial flypast on the first day of a week of commemorations marking the 80th anniversary of the defeat of Nazi Germany which unconditionally surrendered on 8th May 1945.

We should remember that Japan fought on, surrendering on 15th August, finally bringing The Second War to a close after nearly 6 years (from a British perspective) of conflict.

Three years later the bombed out capital city of an exhausted and near bankrupt nation hosted The Olympic Games, our greatest generation now leading the world in peace rather than in a very necessary war.

I live close to the ceremonial flypast route and took this photo as shown, cropping a little to reduce the active space, hopefully to imply an unseen destination.

The infospider that scuttles the interwebs told me this week's theme is from The Mandalorian. Clearly having a darth -er dearth of knowledge on the subject (as evidenced by the fact wikipedia was involved) I thought perhaps I should sith this one out. But I decided to Force myself to do it anyway (as there is no try). So here is my take from a even more classical source than Star Wars, a mid-eighteenth century nursery rhyme. While there are many sets of lyrics for Here We Go Round The Mulberry Bush, this is one of the verses I was taught as a child. So this is the way I have chosen. Even if this is not the Polaroid you are looking for, look on the light side-I have run out of bad puns. Thanks for stopping by to have a look.

Wishing that all who celebrated Star Wars Day had a good one. HFF📷
